OUTSTANDING FOSTER HOME NEEDS! PLEASE SHARE!
We're going to check in with you nightly on foster home needs that still need to be filled. We rescue animals with special needs and considerations. They need quiet homes to thrive (not just survive) in. The kill shelters will kill these animals because they won't do well in every home type that walks through their doors. Every animal deserves to reach their full potential...and also the right to life. You can help us give that to the special ones.
All of MPA's foster homes must be located in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, or Ozaukee counties.
The population we serve need quiet homes. If you have that, PLEASE - apply to foster at www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster If you do not have what these cats need, we won't be able to make a foster placement with you, but you can still help them. Housing animals is not the only way to help them. If you want to help us save the ones that would be killed by other shelters and rescues, help us find the quiet homes they need (so then we can go save more that need help)! Tag someone you know that meets one of these cats' needs. Or share this post to your page (you don't know all the people your friends know - they may know someone!).
1.) EXTREMELY URGENT: Brady & Minka - 11 year old Siamese brother and sister losing their current foster home because of current foster needs to leave her home for her own medical care. They need to be in a new foster home THIS Sunday! You can read about more about them in the myriad of posts we've made about them on our FB page. They need a quiet, calm, tranquil adult-only foster home with an individual or couple who enjoy a quiet home life. The may be okay with an older, late high-school-aged teen in the home that is very mellow and mature. They are thriving in a home with no other animals - and we want them to have that again so they continue to thrive. But since no one who has that is offering to help them, we'll have to entertain homes that aren't ideal, but that also are going to minimize stress to them. At this time, we will also consider a home with 1 male middle age-to-senior male cat OR (but not both) a home with a super-uninterested, laid-back senior dog (that does not bark).
CALLING ALL "I would help but I have a female cat" AND "I can put them in a room of my house people"!
2.) ALSO EXTREMELY URGENT! Mama cat and her 5 kittens. A caretaker contacted us specifically (because she learned that we will go to the ends of the earth to find quiet homes for undersocialized cats to succeed in) to help an undersocialized mom and her 5 kittens. We would love to have our standard for these types of kitties - a quiet, calm, peaceful adult-only home with an individual or couple, no dogs, and either no other animals or a young, playful male cat (as a kitty we know will get along with mom - kittens get along with everyone) so we can fully integrate them into the whole home eventually - and we are asking for that - but because time is of the essence and we just need to get this family to safety and fast, we still absolutely need a quiet adult-only home with no dogs (she will not take care of these babies if she's stressed - and she's undersocialized), but we will place them in a designated foster room for this little family - so you can have whatever type of cats in the home (young, old, male, female - doesn't matter - they won't interact with ours) - just no dogs, and no kids. We've been asking for homes with male cats only for awhile, and everyone says they would help but they have a female cat - well now you can help! We hope you walk the walk if you truly meant it and apply to foster to help this little family.
3.) ALSO URGENT! We have to get Meg safe, y'all! This sweet baby has been waiting so long for someone to be her hero! She's an undersocialized gal of 2 years old and needs a tranquil, quiet, calm adult-only home with an individual or couple who describe themselves as they do their home. There should be no dogs in the home. There could be a cat (a young, playful, curious, outgoing male cat) but no female cats (our female cat people can help with the need above though)! Or, Meg can be the only animal in the home.
You help us get these foster homes, we get to go save more lives that need us and will be killed if brought to a shelter.
Let's do this SE WI. The more help we get finding these special homes, the more special animals we get to save. Be a part of this important life-saving work.
