OUTSTANDING FOSTER HOME NEEDS! PLEASE SHARE!

We're going to check in with you nightly on foster home needs that still need to be filled. We rescue animals with special needs and considerations. They need quiet homes to thrive (not just survive) in. The kill shelters will kill these animals because they won't do well in every home type that walks through their doors. Every animal deserves to reach their full potential...and also the right to life. You can help us give that to the special ones.

All of MPA's foster homes must be located in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, or Ozaukee counties.

The population we serve need quiet homes. If you have that, PLEASE - apply to foster at www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster If you do not have what these cats need, we won't be able to make a foster placement with you, but you can still help them. Housing animals is not the only way to help them. If you want to help us save the ones that would be killed by other shelters and rescues, help us find the quiet homes they need (so then we can go save more that need help)! Tag someone you know that meets one of these cats' needs. Or share this post to your page (you don't know all the people your friends know - they may know someone!).

1.) EXTREMELY URGENT: Brady & Minka - 11 year old Siamese brother and sister losing their current foster home because of current foster needs to leave her home for her own medical care. They need to be in a new foster home THIS Sunday! You can read about more about them in the myriad of posts we've made about them on our FB page. They need a quiet, calm, tranquil adult-only foster home with an individual or couple who enjoy a quiet home life. The may be okay with an older, late high-school-aged teen in the home that is very mellow and mature. They are thriving in a home with no other animals - and we want them to have that again so they continue to thrive. But since no one who has that is offering to help them, we'll have to entertain homes that aren't ideal, but that also are going to minimize stress to them. At this time, we will also consider a home with 1 male middle age-to-senior male cat OR (but not both) a home with a super-uninterested, laid-back senior dog (that does not bark).

CALLING ALL "I would help but I have a female cat" AND "I can put them in a room of my house people"!

2.) ALSO EXTREMELY URGENT! Mama cat and her 5 kittens. A caretaker contacted us specifically (because she learned that we will go to the ends of the earth to find quiet homes for undersocialized cats to succeed in) to help an undersocialized mom and her 5 kittens. We would love to have our standard for these types of kitties - a quiet, calm, peaceful adult-only home with an individual or couple, no dogs, and either no other animals or a young, playful male cat (as a kitty we know will get along with mom - kittens get along with everyone) so we can fully integrate them into the whole home eventually - and we are asking for that - but because time is of the essence and we just need to get this family to safety and fast, we still absolutely need a quiet adult-only home with no dogs (she will not take care of these babies if she's stressed - and she's undersocialized), but we will place them in a designated foster room for this little family - so you can have whatever type of cats in the home (young, old, male, female - doesn't matter - they won't interact with ours) - just no dogs, and no kids. We've been asking for homes with male cats only for awhile, and everyone says they would help but they have a female cat - well now you can help! We hope you walk the walk if you truly meant it and apply to foster to help this little family.

3.) ALSO URGENT! We have to get Meg safe, y'all! This sweet baby has been waiting so long for someone to be her hero! She's an undersocialized gal of 2 years old and needs a tranquil, quiet, calm adult-only home with an individual or couple who describe themselves as they do their home. There should be no dogs in the home. There could be a cat (a young, playful, curious, outgoing male cat) but no female cats (our female cat people can help with the need above though)! Or, Meg can be the only animal in the home.

You help us get these foster homes, we get to go save more lives that need us and will be killed if brought to a shelter.

Let's do this SE WI. The more help we get finding these special homes, the more special animals we get to save. Be a part of this important life-saving work.

TIME SENSITIVE!!! FOSTER HERO NEEDED IMMEDIATELY! 2 DAYS UNTIL WE HAVE TO MOVE BRADY & MINKA! PLEASE SHARE - AND PLEASE READ - BECAUSE NO ONE THAT HAS THE TYPE OF HOME THEY ARE CURRENTLY THRIVING IN HAS COME FORWARD TO FOSTER THEM, WE'VE HAD TO EXPAND ON THE TYPE OF HOME WE THINK THEY WOULD DO OKAY IN - READ BELOW TO SEE IF YOUR HOME COULD NOW BE A MATCH. THEY ARE LOSING THEIR CURRENT FOSTER HOME SUNDAY - WE NEED SOMEONE TO HELP THEM NOW.

We have had zero foster applications that have what Brady & Minka need - if we did, we would have made a placement for them there. We hate to be in these got-to-find-a-foster-home-by-xyz-date situations, but we've never not found one on time. We're hoping a hero comes a long and that is also the case here.

We are a special needs and considerations rescue. We rescue animals that would be killed at the local kill shelters because they don't fit in every home. We don't rescue the bouncy orange kitten that could go anywhere. The animals we serve need quiet homes to thrive (not just live their lives hiding under the bed or in the closet - that's not rescue). We can explain this repeatedly, but we can't understand it for some people. We will not place our animals in homes we know they will fail in - and anyone that asks us to (and people do) have questionable judgement. We state over and over if you are not a match for our animals, you can help by sharing their need to help them find who is, yet some want to continue to try to force a square peg into a round hole, or loudly share their grievances for us not placing an animal with them who they are not a match for - distracting, and detracting, from helping our animals find who they need. Anything that's not helping is hurting - and we won't tolerate that here. Help in the way we are asking for help if you want to help the animals you see - and we would hope that would be what everyone would want, even if its not with them.

We are repeating Brady & Minka's most heart-warming photos in hopes they will grab the hearts of the person(s) they need and they will take action to help them.

We are still hoping someone who has what they currently have (and are thriving in) will see this and help them. Brady & Minka are sweet, loving, affectionate, playful, love attention, and are clearly beautiful - yet no one who has what they need has come forward to help them. We should have a stack of foster applications for them a foot high. But since we don't, they need a place to go (we are entirely foster home based), and they are losing their current foster home on Sunday because their current foster mom is dealing with a health challenge she needs to seek treatment for away from home - so we are going to have to broaden the parameters they might do okay in to get them placed somewhere.

Brady & Minka were rescued from a hoarder house - an overwhelming situation that most cannot fully wrap their heads around. But we do, and we put them in a quiet, adult-only home with no other animals and as we knew they would, they have blossomed and become who they were always meant to be. They are 11 years old and they lived their entire lives in a house of horrors until we rescued them. It shouldn't come as a surprise that they don't like loud noises, they will shut down with any type of chaos, and they don't like a lot of people in their home. Here's what they need. If you have it, please apply to foster. If you don't, please share to help them find it.

-They absolutely need a quiet, calm, peaceful adult-only home with an individual or couple to continue living the peace they have waited so long for. A home with an older teen (late-high-school-age) could be okay if they are mature and mellow. All of our foster homes must be located in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, and Ozaukee counties.

- We never want our animals to take a step backwards when we have helped them heal and overcome their traumatic past - which is why we are praying that someone who has no other animals in their home, like the home they are in now, sees this soon and steps up to help these 2 and foster them. If you have that, please go to www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster and return a foster application NOW! We must have a completed foster application to consider anyone for fostering. Time is of the essence.

- We are going to have to consider some other home environments as well because so far, no one that has the above have offered to help them, and we're running out of time to find them somewhere to go. So if you have the quiet home described above, plus one of the following, please apply to foster:

- A home with ONE middle-age to senior easy-going MALE cat. Minka is pretty curious and engaging so we think she might do okay, but Brady is super-sensitive. Not a home with a bunch of cats. Just one.

- A home with ONE senior, extremely-laid back and non-interested SENIOR dog that's NOT A BARKER. Not ideal, but again, who they need most is not showing up for them.

If we're going the less-than-ideal route, we're looking for a home with either the one cat or one dog - but not both. These 2 get overwhelmed easily and shut down quickly.

Because we do make correct foster placements that match our animals needs, so many of our foster parents adopt their foster animals (though its never a requirement for fostering). Brady & Minka are not quite ready for adoption (they still have some vetting that needs to be done and one more diet transition) but anyone that forgoes helping them because this isn't an adoption plea will be missing out on them. We always give first priority to our fosters, who helped our animals when they needed them most, the first opportunity to adopt if their home is the best long term match for them. Putting the needs of our animals first is always rewarded here.

If you match any of the above, please apply to foster via the above link.

All questions must go to the volunteers who can answer them for you at [email protected]

Again, if you don't have what these two need, we hope you are one of the good people in this community that choose to help and not hurt - the only thing that will help is helping them find who they need - sharing will do just that.

There weren't any foster apps waiting in our inbox for Brady & Minka as we had hoped when we got back from bringing Tiny Biscuits her healing goodies, but maybe its because the awesome person they deserve was meant to see this post (we don't usually post late at night, but maybe we'll reach the people we need at this hour).

The following foster needs have still not been filled. Brady & Minka's is the most urgent (they are losing their current foster home Sunday - you can read more about it on any of the posts we've made daily for the past 3 weeks), but mom and babies are also extremely urgent, and poor Meg has been waiting 8 months for her foster hero. Each needs a little something different in a foster home. See whose needs you match - everyone is wonderful - no matter who you help you will be making a difference in their lives.

* Minka & Brady - need a foster applicant tonight or tomorrow - we need to place them in a new foster home this weekend. They need a quiet, peaceful, calm adult-only foster home with an individual or couple. A quiet, late-high-school-age teen in the home may also be okay for them. They really need a home with no other animals in it - its what's best for them. But since no one has applied to foster them that has that, we will also consider a home with either 1 middle age or senior MALE cat -OR- 1 senior extremely mellow dog (that does not bark) - one or the other, but not both.

* Mama cat and her 5 kittens - mom is undersocialized and scared, so we absolutely need a peaceful, quiet adult-only foster home with no dogs (we need things calm and quiet in the home - we need her to take care of those babies and she won't if she's stressed). Ideally, again, we'd love a home where we could fully integrate mom into the whole home eventually - so either a home with a young male cat or no other animals, but we just need to get this family safe and off the streets, so we welcome a foster that has the aforementioned adult-only home with no dogs and has a room they could dedicate to mom and babies that is all their own {a foster room} (so you could have any type of resident cats - male, female, young, old - because they wouldn't be interacting with our little family so it won't matter).

* Meg - precious girl has been waiting too long for a foster-angel. She needs a tranquil, quiet, serene adult-only foster home with an individual or couple. She could be the only animal in the home, or a young, playful, outgoing, curious resident male cat would make a great companion for her and help us socialize her.

All of our foster homes must be located in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Ozaukee, or Kenosha counties.

Please go to www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster and return a foster application ASAP if you match any of these needs to help any of these deserving kitties!

If you have questions about any of the cats in need mentioned above, or about fostering in general, please reach out to our Foster Team at [email protected]

Our urgent and outstanding foster needs are not our only needs - and many arent likely thinking about that as they see our urgent foster pleas, every single day. We have many animals with special needs and considerations - some of them with very complex needs - like our Tiny Biscuits whose needs grew increasingly so over the past few months and for whom we are spending hours and hours everyday researching ways to teach her immune system to heal her body. This is just one of those tools - lets call it "Tiny Tea" or "Biscuits' Brew" (which has a better ring to it)?

We're off to bring her this special medicine to her in a little while as well as some other supplements to add to her regimen. While doing so, it would be so great if our community was working to find Brady and Minka the foster home they need by Sunday (read today's plea - we added some scenarios to what they could have in a foster home - not because its what is best for them - that we've been asking for for them for the past 3 weeks - but because no one that has what they need has offered to help them). We'd love to come back after helping Tiny Biscuits and find that foster application they've been waiting for, waiting for us in our inbox. We will hope, and we will pray. We're counting on you. As we always say, it takes a village...

BRADY & MINKA DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP!!! FOSTER HERO NEEDED IMMEDIATELY! SHARE PLEASE! OR BETTER YET - PLEASE TAG SOMEONE YOU KNOW WHO IS A MATCH FOR WHAT THESE KITTIES NEED! WE NEED A FOSTER APPLICATION LEADING TO THEIR PLACEMENT TODAY! WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME.

Sadly, we still have no leads on a foster home for these phenomenal little pair, Brady & Minka. They are losing their current foster home on Sunday. We still need an applicant that's a match, need to do a home visit and new foster orientation with that match (either Friday or Saturday), and then move Brady & Minka Sunday - which means we need someone who has what they need to step up for them TODAY.

We rescued Brady & Minka from a hoarder house - something most people can't fully imagine, and what most humans couldn't survive. We placed them in the perfect foster home based on their traumatic past - a quiet, adult-only foster home with no other animals. They have THRIVED there. They are losing that foster home because the wonderful human that had what they needed and answered the call when we were trying to rescue them is dealing with a serious medical condition of her own and has to leave her home to get the treatment she needs. She loves Brady and Minka. She put in the time and love to help them heal - and we owe it to her, just as much as Brady & Minka, to get their new foster placement right to continue what she started.

We are a special needs and considerations rescue. We match our animals needs to homes they will succeed in (not live their lives hiding in) - and we've been doing it for a long time. We will not be bullied to place our animals into homes that aren't a match for what they need by people who have never met them. It's troubling that this occurs, but it does. So if you have the complete opposite of what any of our animals need and you apply, you can run around shouting you tried to help but we wouldn't let you if that does something for you, but again, we aren't going to place our animals in homes that are not what our animals need (which we clearly state but you decide to apply knowing you aren't a match - that's on you). And anyone that would want us to place an animal somewhere that is not a match for them is also very concerning.

Please read more about Brady & Minka here: https://www.petfinder.com/cat/foster-needed-by-june-7th-for-brother-sister-brady-minka-p-s-we-love-when-our-fosters-adopt-06c05971-4ac6-4c0d-9b07-a78a54bf94d8/wi/milwaukee/milwaukee-pets-alive-wi428/details/

We are a foster home-only rescue at this time, so we do need a place for them to go on Sunday. We know there are tons of homes that fit exactly what Brady & Minka currently have, and what we want them to continue to have - and we hope someone that has such does the most selfless thing someone can do - help, in this case, 2 animals in need and answer the call to foster these two amazing beings in need. But we are going to have to open the parameters to scenarios we don't think are best also because no one that has what they need is coming forward to foster.

Please read carefully:

- Brady & Minka are very sensitive (no surprise from their past). They hate loud noise. They hate lots of people in their home. They hate chaos of any kind. They will shut down (and even stop eating) if that is their environment (so again, anyone asking us to place them in such has questionable judgment and should not have animals at all). As such, across the board, they 100% need a quiet, calm, tranquil adult-only home with an individual or couple who enjoy a quiet homelife. A home with an older, late-high-school-age-teen may also be okay if they are mature and quiet as well.

IDEAL: A home with no other animals in it. That's what they have and have blossomed in and come into their own with their personalities shining. If you have the above, and this, you can be a hero to these 2 cats. See below on how to apply to foster them.

LESS IDEAL: A home with ONE middle age to senior male cat. Minka might be okay with this, but we aren't sure Brady will be (and these 2 are bonded and must stay together). Brady even gets overwhelmed with Minka sometimes when she tries to engage him too much, so we really want a home with no other animals in it for them, but if we can't find one in time, we might have to go this route.

ALSO LESS IDEAL: A home with ONE senior dog that is so mellow and indifferent and DOES NOT BARK (these 2 don't tolerate loud noises). You know those old golden retrievers that are just so relaxed and kind of hobble around slowly (no it doesn't have to be a golden retriever, but we wanted to paint a picture of what we're talking about *might* work - because most people know this type of dog we're describing). We, their current foster mom, and the family member of the people we rescued them from said no dogs yet here we are because no one that has no other animals is stepping up to help them.

***If we are going less than ideal for them, its either the one male cat, or the one dog - not a dog and a cat. They really need a home with no other animals, period, but we need somewhere for them to go and are trying to find the least traumatizing environment for them if no one that has what they need will help them.

All of Milwaukee Pets Alive's foster homes must be located in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, or Ozaukee counties.

We are still holding out hope that the person with the quiet, adult-only home with no other animals comes forward to apply and foster them, but if you have any of the other less-than-ideal situations we just described (not a home with a bunch of cats and dogs and kids), please apply as well because we need somewhere for them to go on Sunday. Go to www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster and return a foster application ASAP.

Please share this, and pray, that this will find the ideal person these 2 need in the time we have left. Most of our foster parents adopt because we do make the correct placements for our animals that match their needs (though never a requirement for fostering), but that won't be an option for these 2 if we have to place them in a home that isn't a match for them.

ALL QUESTIONS MUST GO TO OUR FOSTER TEAM AT [email protected] - our social media admins don't have answers about fostering or animals, so don't leave your questions in the comments (they will be removed).

***SHARES NEEDED*** ALSO AN URGENT NEED WITH NO APPLICATIONS! PREFER A FULL-ACCESS FOSTER HOME, BUT WILL TAKE A FOSTER ROOM TO SAVE A SCARED MOM AND HER 5 KITTENS!

No applications for this need either. We wish people that had the quiet, adult-only homes with no other animals (or one cat - the animals we serve don't do well with chaotic homes with enough animals to fill a zoo) would help and foster (while your home could fit any animal, for some, its the only environment they will do well in), but since they currently won't help our animals and are turning away from our needs, we have 6 lives that need to be saved and fast so we have to go to plan B.

For everyone that has said, "I have a room in my house I could foster in" we're calling on you to follow through on that statement.

We still are looking for a foster home that is quiet, calm, peaceful, and adult-only with no dogs (this mom is scared and we need her to take care of her babies - she won't if she's stressed) - but you could have resident cats - and because these cats would be in a room by themselves, it doesn't matter if you have resident male cats, female cats, old young, etc. So calling all those "I would foster but I have a female cat" people (since we have been asking for a home with no animals or a male cat), you can help here! We can't wait to receive your foster app!

Go to www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster and return a foster application without delay!

06/03/2026

HELP!!! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY... WE NEED SHARES TO GET THIS NEED TO SOMEONE THAT WILL FOSTER THESE PRECIOUS CATS! TO ALL OUR PRAYER WARRIORS, WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS FOR A PHENOMENAL FOSTER PARENT(S) FOR BRADY & MINKA NOW - TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!

We have zero foster applications leading to a foster placement of Brady & Minka - and they are losing their current foster home Sunday (we can't have an application come in Sunday - we do home visits and a new foster orientation - we have to move them to their new home by Sunday). If you've ever wanted to be a hero, now's your chance. Please apply now (see below on how).

It's astounding. We started pleading for a new foster home for Brady & Minka 20 days ago (the day after we learned they would be losing the foster home they are in now - their foster mom has a serious medical issue she has to get treatment for away from home). Their need has gotten a decent amount of shares, and also a good number of tags. But no one has stepped up to foster them. We never like when people are interested in an animal solely based on how they look - and we know people get nutty about siamese-looking cats - but their appearance has not even helped Brady & Minka's plight.

We shouldn't have to beg someone to foster them. They are an absolutely wonderful brother and sister pair - built in friends.

People don't understand how our organization is different. We tell them all the time (they just don't read). They try to fit us into the box they know (which is the way everyone else locally does things) and we don't fit - which frustrates them. We rescue animals that would be killed by everyone's favorite kill shelters (let that sink in) because they have particular needs to reach their full potential. People hate on us for it which is wild! (What a sad state when you are chastised for not only saving the innocent lives that are disregarded and dismissed by the masses of this community, but then giving them the absolute highest quality of care, food - everything. We pray for those people all the time. SE WI continues to kill animals in great numbers, and anyone who criticizes anyone trying to put an end to it, and serve their animals at the highest level is clearly a very troubled individual. We live in a very fallen world where good is punished and evil is celebrated). Putting animals in homes where they are so scared that they spend their lives living under a couch or in a closet is not rescue - and if you believe it is, then you don't belong here. We find animals with special needs and/or considerations the quiet homes they need to thrive - not just survive. That's all we do. The chaotic homes with lots of people, kids, and animals are not a match for our animals (but people with those things who want to help us save the animals we do can support us in other ways other than being a home for said animals). At this point in time, we can't help many because we just don't have the support to do so. But it shouldn't be this hard to find a couple of foster homes our animals need in a community with a population of 2 million people. It's really sad.

We rescued Brady & Minka from a hoarder house. Most people can't grasp what that means in real life - even after seeing the TV shows - but is a situation of overwhelm in every sense of the word. Animals coming from such circumstances need the exact opposite - and we have given Brady & Minka that and they absolutely blossomed. They are losing the home where they healed in after their traumatic past as described above and we are so sad about it, but we thought it would be fairly simple to find them the same - look at these two! But because no one who has what they currently have has stepped up to help them, we are going to have to expand on the type of home they could go to. But we really hope someone who has what they really need comes forward to help them. We help animals move forward, not backwards. We need you to do so right now. We need somewhere for them to go - we are entirely foster-home-based.

Minka & Brady are the sweetest, most loving, affectionate little pair of Siameses. They are brother and sister (Minka is on the left, Brady is on the right with those "human-eyes" - we've never seen eyes on a cat like his!). They are 11 years old but when you think "senior" you probably have a very different idea of what a cat should look like and act like at that age. We feed our MPA cats raw food - food their species was designed to eat and can actually use - so our cats of all ages, including seniors, are running around, vibrant, and full of energy! Brady and Minka love to run the length of their foster home (especially before bed - the nighttime zoomies), they love to play wand toys with you, and Brady loves his ball toys. They do love some good downtime however. They cherish sitting on the couch and watching crime dramas with their current foster mom when she gets home from work. They are lap cats - they want to sit on you, or if your lap is occupied by one, the other will have their paw on you somewhere. Minka likes to be held and will lick your face! When you're at work, they will find a space to snooze in (Minka loves her boxes as you can see, and Brady likes to sleep in his little cat cave).

We are still hoping someone that has what these cats have proven they need to thrive (a replica of the home they are in now) will step up and foster them. They hate chaos, they hate loud noises, and they don't like a lot of people in their home (think about where they came from). To continue on the path of success they've been on, they really need a quiet, calm, peaceful adult-only foster home with an individual or couple who describe themselves as the same. They may do okay in a home with a mature, mellow late-high-school aged teen as well. We really want them to be in another home with no other animals in it. They're flourishing in it. But we may have to open the pool up to have the above, but also ONE very laid back, easy going MALE cat (Minka likely would do okay with such a cat, but Brady is very sensitive and gets overwhelmed easily - and Brady & Minka are bonded - they must be fostered together). Definitely no dogs. Again, someone who has no animals at all is really the preference.

All of our foster homes must be located in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, and Ozaukee counties. 1/3 of the states population lives in this area. Surely one person among all of them will see a need they fit and won't turn away.

When its right for us, its easy. The people that foster for us see they have what our animals need, send in an application (they don't announce it - its not for show - they just do it). We have a conversation. We do a home visit and orientation. We place an animal. And we go on to change these precious lives together. Its that simple, and if its not, its wrong for us and our animals. If you have that and want to be a part of helping Brady & Minka right now, go to www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster and return a foster application TODAY. These two desperately need you now.

If you don't have what Brady & Minka need, please - still help them - share their need. Help them find the person they need. We don't have much time left to do that, so we need everyone's help.

All questions must go to our Foster Team at [email protected] They do not wish to be a part of the wild-west that is social media so questions left in the comment will be deleted to try to get you to follow instructions.
