School is almost out for the summer, and over 200,000 Wisconsin children are at risk of “summer hunger,” where kids who normally get breakfast and lunch at school don’t have enough to eat at home. That’s why the Department of Public Instruction, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program, is helping serve over 3 million meals this summer through 900 distribution sites across our state – summer hunger is awful for the children experiencing it, and impacts their ability to learn year-round.
