Milwaukee County Historical Society The mission of the Milwaukee County Historical Society is to collect, interpret, and tell stories related to Milwaukee and Milwaukee County history.

In promoting a greater appreciation of Milwaukee County’s heritage, the Historical Society hopes to develop a better understanding of the issues and challenges facing Milwaukee County today. The Kosciuszko Park pool, shown here in 1946, was built during the New Deal as part of a project by Works Progress Administration. Completed in 1941, the pool served the community over 50 years. The pool was replaced in 1997.

Next Thursday, September 3, Milwaukee-based artist Austin Wood brings his project Blacktop to the MCHS patio.

Expect a laid-back mix of folk and surf rock, with soft vocals, washed-out guitars, acoustic percussion, and the warm, imperfect character of analog recording.
