Yesterday, the sun was shining, the food was was delicious, and we served 84 of our neighbors!

Jeff and Melissa, two of our regulars, recruited two volunteers— their kids who are home from college! Thank you for showing up and giving to the Near West Side!

Thank you to Victory Garden Initiative and TwoChefs Catering Tosa for providing us with two beautiful garden beds that will be used for a community vegetable and herb garden. These gardens will help supplement our meal program and support ongoing efforts to keep our community nourished and cared for.

The volunteer spotlight shines on our fabulous Thursday crew, full of dedicated regulars who give so much of their time and energy. They consistently show up for our community in countless ways.

Today, we also celebrated the graduation of our student volunteers as they head off on new journeys. We’re so grateful for all they’ve shared with us and wish them the very best.

Today’s Volunteer Spotlight shines on Michelle, Mark, and all the incredible volunteers from our partners at Christ Church Mequon.

Michelle and Mark are both dedicated members of Christ Church Mequon and strong leaders within our community. Michelle gives so much time and energy to our neighborhood. She leads our clothing and hygiene pantry, volunteers on Thursdays and Sundays, connects guests to vital resources, and supports our shower and laundry program. She truly embodies compassion and care. Mark is just as committed, faithfully serving with our Sunday crew each week. He helps keep our space peaceful, ensures food is hot and ready, and always shows up with a smile.

Christ Church Mequon leads our meal program every 2nd and 5th Sunday of the month, and without their partnership, this work simply wouldn’t be possible.

Thank you all for the care, consistency, and love you bring to our community!

Today we’re celebrating our entire Tuesday lunch crew!

A special shoutout to our amazing regulars—Cheryl, David, Jeff, Melissa, Mike—whose dedication and consistency truly make this program what it is. They pour so much love into their work, and it shows in every interaction.

We’re also so grateful for the students from Marquette and Mount Mary University, who bring compassion, kindness, and positive energy each week.

Today, our guests had the chance to sign a thank-you poster just for them, a small way to show how much their presence means.

Thank you all for the care, dignity, and community you help create. We couldn’t do this without you.

It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we’re kicking things off by spotlighting two incredible members of our community... Randy and Fred!

These two dedicated volunteers show up early and stay late every Sunday to make sure everyone's fed and cared for.

Randy has been cooking since we first brought the program back, and it’s estimated he’s prepared around 20,000 meals, an amazing testament to his commitment and care.

Fred also dedicates his time on Thursdays, serves on the board, and is key to keeping our operations functioning and running smoothly.

Randy and Fred, we are so grateful for your time, energy, and heart. Our community is stronger because of you!
