Sisters of the Divine Savior

Sisters of the Divine Savior The U.S. Sisters of the Divine Savior are the women religious branch of the Salvatorian Family.

In Tanzania, Congo, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia and Comoros, our African Sisters and foreign missionaries work together to teach lay leaders to catechize in sacramental preparation, serve in rural villages as medical aids, and staffing a nutrition center. Local Sisters also serve as midwives and teach in domestic schools and kindergartens. In Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Malaysia and Philippines, our

Sisters minister to families struggling against poverty, while respecting their diverse faith traditions. The Sisters are involved in education, pastoral care and social work, and operate a home in Sri Lanka for young girls. In Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Uruguay, our Sisters serve impoverished people who struggle to survive. Our ministries include education, health care, pastoral care and social work. In Israel and Jordan, our Sisters are symbols of hope for people caught in the economic and religious conflicts of the Holy Land. In Nazareth, Israel, the Sisters operate a school for more than 2,000 children. In Albania, Romania, Poland, Hungary and Ukraine, the Sisters engage in health care, catechetics, pastoral and youth ministry among people who experience both economic and spiritual deprivation. In the U.S., in California, South Dakota and Wisconsin, we teach, serve in healing ministries, walk alongside the elderly, youth, the hungry and imprisoned, and stand in prophetic witness to the tragedy of human trafficking.

Sometimes the heaviest burdens are the ones we carry alone.

If you're struggling today, know that prayer doesn't have to be polished. You don't need the right words. You don't need to pretend you're okay.

As Sister Elizabeth Ann Christensen reminds us:

"Find a quiet spot and talk to our Father/Jesus/the Spirit about it. Don’t read words at God, just spill it all out, even if you’re mad at God. Then be quiet."

God can handle your fears, your doubts, your anger, and your questions. Bring your whole heart—exactly as it is.

And then, in the silence, listen.

You may not find all the answers right away, but you might discover that you are not carrying your burden alone.

💙 Praying for all who need a little strength, peace, or hope today.

We often think kindness is something we do for others—but it can also be a gift we give ourselves.

But even the smallest acts of care can make a meaningful difference.

Take a moment to read and reflect. 💙

There are scientific reasons to be kind

“Keep remembering that God is holding you.”
— S. Deanna Schroeder SDS

Some days feel uncertain.
Some seasons feel heavier than we expected.

In the middle of the stress, the waiting, the grief, or the noise of everyday life, this simple reminder can bring peace:
You do not carry it all alone.

Even when life feels shaky…
even when you feel tired…
even when the path ahead is unclear…

You are still being held.

Take a deep breath today and rest in that truth. ✨

Five years ago today, the Church recognized Blessed Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan among the Blessed — a joyful moment for the entire Salvatorian Family.

His vision continues to inspire us: to make the Savior known and loved through every way and means the Spirit inspires.

As we celebrate the 5th anniversary of his beatification, we give thanks for the countless people around the world who continue to live his mission through lives of faith, service, kindness, and hope.

May Blessed Francis Jordan continue to guide us as we respond to the needs of our world with courage, creativity, and trust in God.

Blessed Francis Jordan, pray for us.

In today's world bad news often feels loud and constant, Sister Virginia Honish offers a simple but meaningful daily practice:

“Each day ask yourself, ‘What good news did I hear today?’”

Sometimes the good news is big. More often, it’s quiet — a kind gesture, a moment of peace, a helping hand, a reason to hope. When we intentionally look for goodness, we begin to notice just how much of it still surrounds us.

What good news did you hear today?
