‼️West Clyborn Street closure starting today‼️

Traffic will be closed from N Plankinton Ave. to N Water St. for 10-12 weeks for a bridge cable replacement. Both intersections
will remain open to north/south traffic, as well as river & Riverwalk access. If you're traveling through this area, we recommend allowing extra travel time & exploring alternate routes.

This has got to be Milwaukee’s coolest history lesson 🤯

Did you know…

🍺 Schlitz was “The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous”. After the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, Schlitz shipped beer to Chicago and beyond, putting MKE on the map nationally.

💵 Joseph Schlitz was on the Board of Directors of the bank that became the Historical Society building. It was nicknamed “The Brewers Bank” because beer barons like Schlitz, Philip Best and Valentine Blatz all kept their money there.

🏦 The building has six massive vaults with the door and vestibule of one alone weighing 27.5 tons. The vault door frame in the basement weighs an incredible 42.5 tons.

This is something you simply must experience for yourself!
