May is Youth Mental Health Awareness Month!

Youth mental health awareness can take many forms, but all create impactful change. The Bader Youth Mental Health Taskforce is collaborating with three organizations to help bring mindfulness programs to 12 different Milwaukee schools during Mental Health Awareness Month. At SKY Schools, mental health awareness takes shape through stress management and emotional regulation workshops - bringing up to 500 students mindfulness exercises that encourage emotional well-being. For Bloom Art Therapy, mental health awareness comes through therapeutic art sessions held at four Milwaukee Public Schools throughout the month of May - focusing on addressing the creative and cultural well-being of students across Milwaukee. At Pets Helping People, mental health awareness is supported by certified handler/pet teams (dogs and their humans), who will visit four urban middle and high schools throughout Milwaukee, creating a calming environment that promotes emotional regulation, among other positive benefits. We extend our gratitude to these organizations offering mindfulness, art therapy, and pet therapy, and thank all of our grantees who prioritize youth mental health and create a lasting impact on the well-being of the next generation.
