As concerns surrounding immigration enforcement continue across Wisconsin, we recognize the fear, uncertainty, and very real consequences facing immigrant families and LGBTQ+ asylum seekers.
Diverse & Resilient has released a public statement from Chris Allen, President & CEO, and Tou Fong, Director of Community Programs, addressing the impact of immigration enforcement and the risks faced by LGBTQ+ individuals fleeing persecution.
Alongside our statement, we are sharing helpful resources, including Know Your Rights information, guidance on immigration detention, and connections to legal and community support services.
We want to be clear about where D&R stands: Your immigration status or documentation does not diminish your humanity, your need for care, or your dignity. We will continue working to reduce barriers to essential services, connect people to prevention and care, and address the conditions that put LGBTQ+ lives and well-being at risk.
