The final blessing of PrideFest 2036 has been offered with full and grateful hearts. Deep thanks to the last crew of the evening for carrying the spirit of love all the way through.
May we remember that we always hold the power to bless one another—any day, any moment.

What a joyful day at PrideFest Milwaukee
a bright chorus of color and courage.
How blessed we are to gather in a place
where every heart can unfurl safely,
where celebration becomes connection,
and connection becomes care.
Our Blessing Booth stands
because Interfaith volunteers and clergy weave their spirits together,
knowing in their bones that love is our religion, and every blessing is a seed of hope.

It’s a beautiful day at Milwaukee Pride to stop by for a blessing!

Happy Anniversary to the first same-sex couples married on June 6, 2014! The first legal gay marriages in Wisconsin. U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb ruled in Wolf v. Walker that marriage licenses could be issued to same-sex couples. The ruling was announced just as PrideFest was opening. The then County Executive, Chis Abele, decided to extend the hours of the County Court house to allow couples to get married (there was worry that the decision would be stayed on appeal, which it was the following week).
