The German-American Societies of Wisconsin, Inc.

was formed as a 501c3 non-profit organization to provide a meeting place for representatives of German culture, education, and performance societies in Wisconsin to discuss the events, promotions, and concerns of their societies. As stated in the articles of incorporation, the purpose of this organization is exclusively educational, to represent its member societies, and to engage in activities to

further the understanding between the United States and German-speaking cultures, and shall be to preserve, advance, and disseminate knowledge of the culture and history of the region's German-American societies. At present, the German-American Societies of Wisconsin, Inc. meets four times a year to discuss ways to support, promote, and recognize our member organizations. Disclosure

Members John Graber, Rich Graber, and myself of Milwaukee Gapa, and John Meindl, Paul Kurtzner, and Joe Kirchens of Chicago Gapa enjoyed a day of Golf last week at the Renwood Golf Course in Round Lake Beach, IL.... It’s June Dairy Month! German immigrants played a pivotal role in making Wisconsin “America’s Dairyland.” While many German farmers initially focused on wheat, this changed as soils deteriorated from one-sided use. That’s when the Germans in Wisconsin adjusted to specializing in dairy farming.

Many German and Swiss immigrants brought their knowledge of cheese-making with them to the United States. It didn’t take long for small cheese factories to pop up across Wisconsin. This made Wisconsin the leading cheese producer in the country.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup has begun! We wish good luck to the USA and the Germanic teams during the tournament.
