Unitewi

Unitewi The mission of UniteWI is to help every person we serve achieve health and well-being in the most complete, holistic and sustaining way possible.

The UniteWI, a Pathways Community HUB, has been initiated to significantly improve social and health outcomes through the reduction of social risks in Milwaukee. UniteWI aims to expand and extend its services and reach to communities in the surrounding counties in order to address overall health disparities, improve population health, and reduce excess rates of infant death. We address this overal

l disparity by ensuring care coordination services are available to address the social and health needs of the population. The HUB infra-structure provides tools and strategies needed to ensure that at-risk individuals in a community are served in a timely, coordinated manner, and utilizes a trained and expanding community health worker (CHW) workforce to do so.

At UniteWI, we support equitable access to quality healthcare, reduction in health disparities, increased awareness, and work to connect local communities with the resources, support, and care they need to achieve better health outcomes.
Today we recognize Global Sickle Cell Awareness Day 2026 themed "Closing the Survival Gap: Equity in Sickle Cell Disease," which targets global healthcare disparities and demands actionable change in access to care.

Autistic Pride Day 2026 takes place on Thursday, June 18. The annual, worldwide event is organized by and for autistic individuals to celebrate neurodiversity, advocate for self-advocacy, and challenge stereotypical perceptions of autism. Autism is a lifelong neurological variation that affects how a person’s brain processes information. It is not a disease.
Autism exists on a wide spectrum, which means every autistic person is unique. Strengths, challenges, communication styles, and support needs can vary greatly from person to person.
According to the CDC, about 1 in 36 children in the U.S. are identified as autistic.
The movement is not run by major charities, but by autistic people themselves. The day features gatherings hosted by local organizations as well as the annual global conference and online campaign uniting voices, researchers, and advocates across 22 countries.
