Our JCRC was proud to be part of this important statement speaking out against hateful online posts from an elected official. We are also very sad that such statements need to be made.

The JCRC was proud to witness the unveiling and ribbon cutting of the permanent public memorial: "I Didn't Do It Alone" honoring the late civil rights trailblazer and leader, Judge Vel R. Phillips. Despite the rain, many elected officials, diverse community leaders, artists and Phillips family members were present as internationally renowned artist, Karen Oliver unveiled her piece. Various speakers discussed the inspiration and meaning of Judge Phillips’ achievements as fueled by her core belief that real change requires collective effort. You may view the memorial at Vel Phillips Plaza located downtown Milwaukee at 401 W. Wisconsin Ave.

The bipartisan Jewish American Security Act (S. 4576 & HR 9211) would strengthen protections for Jewish communities through increased security funding, stronger student protections, and new tools to combat antisemitism.

This is a once-in-a-generation moment. Congress must act now.
