Hey everyone. It’s clear my recent post about Charlie Kirk stirred up some strong emotions and to be honest, I didn’t fully expect the level of response it received. I may not completely understand every reaction, but I do respect that people are feeling deeply and that matters.
Truthfully, I’ve spent years sitting in rooms with people who don’t always agree, and I’ve learned that discomfort is often the first step toward meaningful dialogue. That’s why I started Diverse Dining over seven years ago to confront the segregation, misunderstanding, and silence I saw in our communities and replace them with connection, curiosity, and truth.
My perspective is shaped by the hundreds of conversations I’ve facilitated with thousands of people from all walks of life. And one pattern I’ve seen over and over again is that we often show up when emotions are high but we miss the moment to stay, to strategize, and to actually build something better.
So if my post sparked something in you whether it challenged you, frustrated you, or simply made you pause...... I want to invite you to the table. Not just figuratively, but literally.
Our next Diverse Dining event is called “Healing the Things We Don’t Talk About,” and it’s designed for moments just like this.
It’s not about being right—it’s about being real, and growing through the kind of dialogue we rarely get to have.
I’d love to see you there.
