The format is double elimination, so you're guaranteed at least two 9-point matches. Entry fee is $25, and we pay out 100% of the entry fees to the winners.

Vlad Eydelman of Lake Geneva won the Championship (top) division of the New York Metropolitan Open last week. We hope to see him one of these days at our Wednesday or Saturday club sessions. (In the meantime, he and James play each other in Lake Geneva on occasion.)

TOURNEY WINNER: Mike Krause (left) took first-place in our November-December tournament, beating runner-up Joe Wolf (not shown). Consolation-track matches continue to determine the third-place finisher.

NEW TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Tournaments will begin the first Wednesday of every month and continue over several weeks. Players who want to enter must do so by 6pm on the first night of the tournament, either in-person or by calling or texting tournament director William Womack at (414) 758-6974, even if you can't play that night‬.

First round matches should be completed during the first 3 weeks of the tournament. Players are encouraged to play their matches on regularly scheduled club nights but, if necessary, they may arrange with each other to play at other times.

Club nights will combine Tournament and Open Play, so players who can't stay late can still play in the tournament, and tournaments can finish regardless of McGinn’s closing time.

Format: Progressive Consolation, 9 pt matches.
Entry Fee: $25.
Payout: 50% First, 25% Second and First Consolation.

Our own Peter Abbott (second from right) and his partner, Bruce Russell of Madison, took first place in the Doubles event at the Wisconsin State Backgammon Championships in Madison last month.
