2017 was the year we finally settled on a location to call home. We had seriously looked at two other places before one of our friends put us in touch with the owner of 5519 West North Ave.

It was a foreclosed buildling and in pretty bad shape. It needed a full gut and we were trying to figure out if our vision of a Brewery/Coffee Roastery would be able to fit inside the space. We stumbled upon a video of the Brewery Tired Hands Brewing Company and saw their fermemnters tucked under the stairs and squeezed into corndes and expanded our idea of what a brewery could look like. In February of 2017, we signed a lease with a contingency that we would get funding and that same week got the call from the bank that they had approved our loan and we could start the closing process. That process took until October of 2017 and construction began that November.

EIGHT MONTHS later after tons of back and forth with the contractors, terse conversations with the crazy HVAC guy, adding a child to our family and the family of one of the Electritions, we were ready for a friends and family soft open. The taps were still being installed, but the date was July 7th of 2018, 17 months after we signed a lease in Washington Heights, we were serving our first beer and pulling our first shots of espresso for people we cared deeply for and who cared deeply for us.

There are so many stories from opening to where we are now. We will be dropping more of them, but the stories are just a tiny part of the amazing connection that has happened because of the garage doors being pulled up and brews being brewed.

Please join us on Juuly 18th this year to celebrate 8 years of Stories and people.

Unfortunately, due to the forecasted severe weather, we are cancelling tomorrow's Night Market. We’re sad that we won’t be able to gather, but we want to make sure that everyone is safe.

We hope to see everyone at the July Night Market on July 9!
