Voices Found Repertory

We are absolutely blown away by the interest in our 10-minute play new works festival. It truly reflects how important it is that our community has the opportunity to share their work and talent in this capacity, and this is an initiative we're excited to expand on in the years to come. We also want to be mindful of the submissions we've received and ensure each play is given the consideration it deserves. That being said, we're going to close our submission window a bit earlier than planned to allow our board the time to review every submission we've received. If you have not yet submitted your play, please do so by Saturday, Sept. 19 to be considered for our new works festival. A huge THANK YOU to this community for being as excited about this festival as we are!

Now that you've met the full lineup for Press Play 2: The Return of the Nerd Cabaret, the last thing to do is come see this amazing group tomorrow night for a celebration of all things nerdy!

From magically influence TV musical episodes to Muppets to viral internet hits and the best of video games, there's something for everyone to nerd out about.

You've only got one chance to see the sequel though, so don't miss Press Play 2 tomorrow night at the CSz Milwaukee Garage!

We are officially accepting 10-minute play submissions for our New Voices Festival now through the end of September. Visit this link to submit your play for consideration ➡️ https://tr.ee/dSdAkS

Excited about the festival, but don't consider yourself a playwright? We're also looking for actors, directors, and crew to help make this festival happen! If you're interested in being a part of New Voices beyond writing, let us know here https://tr.ee/dSdAkS and we'll reach out to you once the 10-minute plays have been selected. Actors, directors and crew will have one week of rehearsals followed by one weekend of performances for this festival.

Please note that expressing interest in the festival at this time is not a formal commitment. Playwrights will receive a small stipend if their piece is selected.

Poor Mr. Bunburry was quite exploded, and it is a sad, sad blow. It really doesn't seem fair that we only had one performance of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, but what can you do? 🤷‍♀️ Thank you to everyone who came out to our fundraiser last night! It may have been the most fun ever had in the country. If you'd still like to make a donation (wink wink nudge nudge), you can check out this link ➡️ https://linktr.ee/earnestlyvfr

Thank you to Adam Laberge for capturing our reading perfectly 🤌

Some of you may have clocked something about our meet the cast posts- we are missing a Merriman! Our original actor had a last minute conflict and unfortunately couldn't join us this time, so we thought this would be a perfect opportunity for a little fun 😈 Our Merriman will be selected from our audience members tonight! No pressure, no experience needed. We just need someone who's willing to take a chance and have a little fun. Could that be YOU? Get your tickets now and come find out! https://linktr.ee/earnestlyvfr

"Melissa Tolner, a Pittsburgh native now Milwaukee transplant, is thrilled to be supporting VFR again! Her previous credits with VFR include Greene/Duchess of York in their production of Richard II. We are back with another familiar face to both VFR and Milwaukee theatre as a whole. We are so happy to welcome back Haley Ebinal Weisfeldt as Gwendolyn! Our event is *one night only* so don't wait to get your tickets ➡️ https://linktr.ee/earnestlyvfr

(Pssst- can't make our event but want to still contribute to the fundraiser? You can do that in the same link!)

"Haley Ebinal Weisfeldt (she/her) is a Milwaukee-based actor and musician who believes empathetic, community-building storytelling is the most effective remedy against isolation, harmful assumptions, and disappearing histories. Some of her previous theater work includes Mary Lou in Cowgirls (Play-By-Play), Juliet in Romeo & Juliet (Play-by-Play), Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Play-by-Play, Voices Found Repertory), and Francine in Totalitarians (Constructivists). She is extremely grateful to her husband Patrick for his earnest and enduring support."
