Kids Impact Community

Kids Impact Community Kids Impact Community works to strengthen the Milwaukee community through partnerships and service experiences in an inclusive environment.

KIC families are from all sorts of backgrounds who live in the metro area. We care greatly for our Milwaukee community and we prioritize working together with our children. We believe that working hand-in-hand with our children while volunteering fosters long-term benefits. We welcome moms, dads, aunts, uncles, nannies, and grandparents to join our group with your children. https://linktr.ee/kicmk

We host events monthly. Our projects are scheduled to fit the needs of the Milwaukee agencies we work with and the needs of our young volunteers. We encourage our parents (and kids!) to create their own KIC mission based on their passions and interests. Therefore, we do not have a set time or date that we meet for every mission (except for our playdates). We do many weekday events. We also do after-school or weekend events that incorporate older families and we are working on adding more of those. See our blog or missions accomplished page for examples of past missions. Our monthly newsletter updates our KIC families about future events. We also give advance notice of our events on Facebook.

Calling family volunteers in Oak Creek, Hales Corners, & Racine area! 📣

Join our junior leader led project: 'Leaders in Wellness" for Aurora Health Care Cancer Clinics!

From Artiola-
"As a young leader passionate about wellness, compassion, and community service, this initiative is deeply personal to me. After losing my grandfather to cancer, I experienced firsthand how important support and kindness can be during treatment. Aurora Health Care Cancer Clinics are especially meaningful to my family, as that is where my Grandpa received care throughout his journey. Through Leaders in Wellness, I hope to bring comfort and encouragement to patients by creating wellness care kits and heartfelt cards for individuals undergoing treatment at Aurora clinics throughout Milwaukee."

TOMORROW! Intergenerational service & play at Hamilton House Senior Living! We could use more KIC volunteers 🧡.

This is a great event for littles! Our playgroup will provide an opportunity to children, parents, and assisted living residents to interact and play with each other in a relaxed and friendly environment. We will open with a hello song to break the ice and introduce ourselves to the group. Then we will all work together creating something that will help support a shared cause. Our joint service project and theme will change each month.

🐾Junior Leader Maddie (age 11) believes that it is important that all kids know how to stay safe around dogs. With help from the MILWAUKEE DOG TRAINING CLUB , Maddie created a project that taught KIC kids what to do if they are approached by an unknown dog and gave them the opportunity to practice meeting new dogs and safely giving them a treat.🧡

Then, Maddie taught us all how to make fleece tug toys. Together KIC families finished 50 tug toys for dogs at the Wisconsin Humane Society Families even donated items off the Humane Society's wish list. We can't wait to drop it all off for our furry community members!

🇺🇸Today we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is not something we take lightly, and we are grateful for the freedoms their service helped protect.

➡️At Kids Impact Community, we believe service is one way we help build a more caring and connected world for the next generation. On Memorial Day, we hold space for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance.

May we honor this day with hearts that remember, families that gather with meaning, and communities that never forget the cost of freedom.
Today and always, we remember.🧡

🧡KIC families celebrated National Foster Care Month with Kids Matter Inc. ! Our kids gathered all of the supplies to fill a fostering hope duffel bag for children in foster care.

➡Many children enter foster care with little more than the clothes on their backs. These duffel bags give a child something to call their own during a challenging time of transition.

All duffel bags will be distributed by Kids Matter Inc., an organization that supports kinship and foster children as well as all community members working to keep kids safe. Learn more on their website!

🗣Approximately 2,000 children are in foster care in Milwaukee County, and as many as 100 children are removed from their homes each month, according to Children’s Wisconsin. Foster families provide the love, safety, and stability children need while they work toward reunification or adoption.

Making freezer meals is a simple but powerful way to offer our support to these families. Welcoming a new child into the home can quickly disrupt routines and add additional appointments to a family’s already busy schedule. Having easy ready-to-heat meals on hand for challenging days of transition enables caregivers to focus their time and energy on helping a child feel safe, settled, and cared for.🧡

Join us May 30th to help assemble meals!

On Saturday, 4 families met at Robyn's Nest to assist in stocking the clothing shelves with summer apparel for children transitioning into foster care.🧡

➡️In only two hours, we were able to get through all of the received donations that needed to be shelved. We also were able to donate new underwear and socks to the Robyn's Nest. Thank you to everyone who donated under garments or donated your time at the event!🎉
