Kids Impact Community

Kids Impact Community Kids Impact Community works to strengthen the Milwaukee community through partnerships and service experiences in an inclusive environment.

KIC families are from all sorts of backgrounds who live in the metro area. We care greatly for our Milwaukee community and we prioritize working together with our children. We believe that working hand-in-hand with our children while volunteering fosters long-term benefits. We welcome moms, dads, aunts, uncles, nannies, and grandparents to join our group with your children. https://linktr.ee/kicmk

We host events monthly. Our projects are scheduled to fit the needs of the Milwaukee agencies we work with and the needs of our young volunteers. We encourage our parents (and kids!) to create their own KIC mission based on their passions and interests. Therefore, we do not have a set time or date that we meet for every mission (except for our playdates). We do many weekday events. We also do after-school or weekend events that incorporate older families and we are working on adding more of those. See our blog or missions accomplished page for examples of past missions. Our monthly newsletter updates our KIC families about future events. We also give advance notice of our events on Facebook.

Today we honor Juneteenth by remembering the resilience, brilliance, and freedom of Black families & communities, including right here in Milwaukee.🧡

For us, this day is not about posting a quick message. It is about reflecting on the legacy, the stories we tell our children, and the kind of community we are building together. As a kid focused volunteer organization, we want to share the message that joy matters and showing up for one another matters.🧡

We will be sharing a few thoughtful Juneteenth resources in our linktree for families who want to keep learning and celebrating in meaningful ways.

How is your family honoring Juneteenth today?

Still time to join us TOMORROW!🧡

In Wisconsin, 1 in 10 households are struggling with hunger, impacting people of all ages from children to older adults. Following the pandemic, food pantries across Wisconsin are still reporting increased demand alongside lower-stocked shelves as pandemic-related benefits end and food prices continue to increase due to inflation.

, located in Glendale, is an organization that rescues excess food from area restaurants, food suppliers, and caterers and redistributes it to over 90 shelters, food pantries, and more than 6,000 community members in need every week. We have been packing lunches monthly for Just One More Ministry for the past five years, and we’re excited to invite your kids to see another aspect of their work.

Today, we went for a stroll with Lake Country Mom Movement to Birch & Banyan Coffee then walked to Nixon Park for some time at the playground. While we were there, we made cards for our grand friends at Hartland Terrace for our upcoming July Intergenerational playgroup on 7/17. We are having a luau so we made cards to fit the theme!🌺

Thank you to everyone who came out! 🧡

🛝Let’s power up a playground together!
Next week, our KIC volunteers are rolling up their sleeves and getting moving as mulch movers🌱

We’ll be spreading fresh mulch to help create a safer, more welcoming play space for local kids at Our Next Generation Kids (ONG Kids) ! Even small hands can make a big impact.
This is the kind of service kids love (hello, dirt + teamwork🎉) and a simple way to show them how we care for our community spaces.

🧡We gathered at Hartland Terrace with for a baseball themed intergenerational playgroup.

⚾We started with a baseball themed book, sang "Take Me Out to The Ball Game" and "Roll Out The Barrell". We then made a baseball paper plate craft. After, we played baseball with a pool noodle and balloon. Many home runs were hit! Get up, get up, get out of here!!! Little bellies were ready for a snack! We decorated cookies to look like baseballs that were donated from a local mom in the community! So many hearts were warmed at this special playgroup! We can't wait until next month!

Thank you to everyone who joined!🧡

We need families to step up for our Junior Leader service project next Saturday, and this is one you do not want to miss.🧡

Our junior leader Artiola, has helped shape this project at Aurora Health Care Cancer Clinics, and now she is ready to lead it with purpose. Families will unite for a powerful hands-on day of compassion and community impact by creating heartfelt cards filled with uplifting messages and artwork while assembling care kits designed to bring comfort, encouragement, and hope to cancer patients.

If your family has been looking for a service project that is hands-on and impactful, this is the one to join. Next Saturday is almost here, and we would love to have you there!

Sign up today on our website. 🔗

Small hands. Big hearts. HUGE impact.🎉
What an extraordinary year it has been for Kids Impact Community.🧡 Together, we engaged thousands of volunteers in more than 175 service projects alongside 52 incredible community partners-all with a shared goal of helping children discover the power of service.

👀 A look at our impact in 2025:
⭐6,650+ volunteer hours
⭐4,300+ engaged KIC volunteers
⭐175+ service projects offered, including 12 established monthly projects
⭐52 partner organizations
⭐ 21 Volunteer Project Leaders and 6 Junior Leaders

These accomplishments are far more than numbers. They represent families feeling more connected, neighbors showing up for one another, and most importantly, children learning what it means to care, lead, and serve.

🧡Every project helps empower compassionate kids who will shape and lead the next generation-carrying forward values of empathy, service, and community long after the project ends.

➡️As KIC donors Charlotte and Derek Supple shared:
"Kids Impact Community empowers families to serve together and shows children (and their adults too) that they can be changemakers today. What sets KIC apart is its ability to create both fun and meaningful service experiences that strengthen both family connections and the broader community. We're proud to support an organization that inspires a lifelong commitment to giving back."

🫂To every volunteer, donor, partner, project leader, and family who made this impact possible-thank you. Together, we're proving that kids can make a difference today.

🥫We’re excited to invite families to join us for a hands-on service project with Glendale.🧡

⁉️Did you know 1 in 10 households in WI are struggling with hunger? While food prices stay high and pantry shelves are stretched thin, organizations like Just One More Ministry are doing the important work of rescuing excess food and getting it into the hands of neighbors who need it most.
➡️During this project, our families will help assemble outreach bags in the warehouse pantry area, which is set up like a mini supermarket. It is a great way for kids to see service in action and learn how food rescue helps support local families.

🔗Sign up today and help us pack food for neighbors in need.

🧡🏳️‍🌈 Volunteering is for all families.
3 things you can consistently find on our website.
➡️ Our mission
➡️ Our vision
➡️ And our values.

Kids Impact Community strives to provide an environment where all children and families feel safe and affirmed, valued and reflected. We are unaffiliated with any faith traditions or other organizations. We partner with diverse, established, and effective organizations within Milwaukee that, like us, recognize the capability of children to make change, serve others, and build relationships.

🍽️Making freezer meals is a simple but powerful way to offer our support to foster families in our community. Welcoming a new child into the home can quickly disrupt routines and add additional appointments to a family’s already busy schedule. Having easy ready-to-heat meals on hand enables caregivers to focus their time and energy on helping a child feel safe, settled and cared for.

🧡A huge thank you to all the families who joined us last Saturday to make lasagna & chicken fajita meal kits to support 12 area foster families!
