🔴🔵 COACH SPOTLIGHT: PHIL DAVIES

Next up in our Coach Spotlight series is Coach Phil!

Phil coaches our AG1/JR1 groups at WSAC and has been part of the Schroeder program for 15 years, with 17 years of coaching experience overall!

Phil’s favorite Schroeder Way value is “Be Great.” For Phil, being great means holding yourself to a high standard, both in and out of the pool.

What makes Schroeder special to Phil is our commitment to developing the person beyond the swimmer, building lifelong values, and providing opportunities for athletes to compete at the highest levels.

Over the next several days, we’ll be highlighting our Schroeder coaches, sharing their favorite Schroeder Way values and what makes Schroeder special to them!

First up, Coach Chandler

Chandler has been coaching for the past seven years and currently oversees our Senior Program.

His favorite Schroeder Way value is “Be Great.” Because greatness isn’t just about achieving big goals it’s about making the daily choice to grow, challenge yourself, and become the person capable of achieving them.

At Schroeder, we’re developing more than great swimmers. We’re developing great people.

Congratulations to Maggie Dickinson on qualifying for her second National Junior Team!

Maggie was selected to the team based on her performances this summer in the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke, ranking Top 5 nationally in both events.

An incredible accomplishment and a huge testament to Maggie’s dedication, consistency, and commitment to the sport.

Congratulations, Maggie! We are incredibly proud of you!

What does Schroeder do differently?

At Schroeder, we believe swimming is about more than developing great athletes. It’s about developing great people.

The Schroeder Way is how our athletes and coaches live out the values of our program every day using the sport of swimming as the vehicle to develop character, confidence, discipline, resilience, accountability, and leadership.

From age group through senior, we intentionally give athletes the tools they need to be successful in the water, out of the water, and long after their swimming careers are over.

We don’t just want to create better swimmers.

We want to create better people and we believe that’s what ultimately creates better athletes.

Amazing two weeks in Irvine! 🌴🏊‍♂️

Week 1 kicked off with the Toyota U.S. National Championships with Maggie Dickinson, Anne Dickinson & Aibhy King, followed by an incredible week at the Summer Junior Championships.

The group included Daniel Nemesh, Jude Hill, Dawson Walters, Anne Dickinson, Maggie Dickinson, Lauren Komassa, Katelyn Anderson, Amanda Lotz & Aibhy King.

🔥 Women’s Relays: Scored in all 5 relays, including a 4th-place finish and team record in the 4x200 Free Relay!

🏆 Individual Highlights:
• Anne Dickinson — scored in the 400 & 800 Free
• Aibhy King — scored in the 100 Fly
• Maggie Dickinson — scored in the 50 & 100 Back, including a Championship in the 100 Back!
• Dawson Walters — 5th in the 100 Fly and scored in the 200 Fly, 100 Free & 200 Free

As a group, we finished 15th overall in the combined team standings.

An incredible way to close out the summer with an amazing group of athletes!! Go Schroeder!

Schroeder celebrated its National Championship with a gold cap and trophy celebration day! After practice, athletes got to chow down on some waffles and ice cream!
