Well dear friends, it’s time to hang up our hats and while this won’t come as a surprise to some, the Door County Sled Dogs board of directors have voted to officially retire.
It’s been a adventurously worthy 16 year run with so much outpouring of love - allowing so many good good dogs, volunteers, sponsors, donors, adopters, and friends to make such great things happen - impacting hundreds if not thousands of dogs and community members.
Furthermore, the last of the DC sled dogs are seniors (as are their humans😉) and/or are special needs and all the sled dogs have been personally adopted by their handlers. It’s what they know, it’s who they love.
We will sincerely miss everyone but genuinely need the time to work on health issues and quality of life for all. We hope you understand.
All remaining assets of the organization have been donated to other non-profit organizations to continue to help the many rescue dogs still in need.
We will always be eternally grateful for everyone’s help & support. We will be closing down our website and PayPal donation site, allowing our fantastically big hearted donors off the hook… Our gratitude knows no bounds and will continue to be lifelong.
We do hope & pray you will all care for and continue to support the many rescue dogs still in need with other worthy organizations. It makes such a difference!
We love every one of you and will always carry each of you (and your own fur babies) in our hearts, thoughts, prayers, and very souls.
Farewell dear friends, you have always been and are the VERY best in the universe!
💖💖💖
