💡 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪?

La Causa began with a simple but powerful idea: children deserve quality care, and families deserve support. 💛

In 1972, founder Clementina Castro opened La Causa Daycare to provide bilingual childcare for Milwaukee families. 🌱

More than 50 years later, that vision has grown into an organization supporting children and families through:

📚 Bilingual K4–8th grade education
🧸 A free, 24/7 Crisis Nursery & Respite Center
🌱 Early education and child care
🤝 Mental health services, treatment foster care, and family support

Different programs. One shared purpose: nurturing healthy families and building a stronger Milwaukee. 💛

💜 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱.

Some families open their homes to children who need a safe, supportive place to stay. Others step in to give foster parents a much-needed break, providing care for children for a few hours or a short stay.

These are two different roles, but both make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.

La Causa is looking for caring individuals and families interested in becoming foster parents or respite providers. You don’t have to take the same path to make an impact.

𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲? Read our blog to explore the differences between foster care and respite care and find out how you can help.

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The story of La Causa’s Crisis Nursery & Respite Center began more than 30 years ago with a simple but powerful need: keeping children safe and helping families through moments of crisis.

From its beginnings focused on preventing child abuse and neglect, the Crisis Nursery has continued to be a safe place for children while their families navigate some of life’s most difficult moments.

Today, that includes families experiencing domestic violence, homelessness, medical emergencies, and other crises.

For a parent who needs to get somewhere safe, having a place where their children can be cared for, comforted, and protected can make all the difference.

For more than 30 years, the Crisis Nursery has been here. And we’re still here when families need us most. 💛
