Award-winning work. Professional connections. A preview of what's to come. MIAD students, faculty and staff returned from MAPC 2026 energized and ready to welcome printmakers from across the region to Milwaukee in 2028.

Congratulations to Brody Savala-Alcock ’28 (Fine Art + New Studio Practice) on earning the McClain's Student Recognition Award, and to Nola Hennen ’27 (Communication Design), whose design was selected as the official identity for the 2028 MAPC Conference. 👏

Ready to take your portfolio to the next level?

MIAD’s Scholarship Portfolio class gives high school seniors the opportunity to experiment, take creative risks and grow their skills through five portfolio-building projects tailored to a variety of artistic interests and disciplines. Along the way, receive feedback from faculty and admissions staff while preparing for the transition to college.

Successful completion earns a $5,000 renewable scholarship to attend MIAD.

What a weekend! 🧡

A huge THANK YOU to all of the artists who joined us for the opening reception and artists & curators talk for In a State of IF MIAD. It was such a joy to see so many artists bring their friends and families to experience the work, share stories, and connect with others around these often-invisible experiences of infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, and reproductive health.

As curators, one of the most meaningful parts of bringing this exhibition together has been creating space for these stories to be seen, heard, and held in community. This weekend was a beautiful reminder of why this work matters. 🙏🏻🧡

🎨 Milwaukee Gallery Night is almost here!

Spend the evening at MIAD exploring three thought-provoking exhibitions: In a State of IF, Out of the Suitcase 2026: An Exhibition of Awardees from the Mary L. Nohl Suitcase Export Fund, and Through the Plastic Lens: A Toy Camera Exhibition.

Plus, don't miss the In a State of IF Curator & Select Artist Talk at 4 p.m. in the Frederick Layton Gallery, featuring co-curators Katherine Gressel and Maria Novotny alongside exhibiting artists and local art therapist Brittany Runaas.

We will also be welcoming graduates back to campus to reconnect, celebrate their MIAD community, and enjoy Gallery Night alongside current students, faculty, and visitors during our MIAD Alumni Fall Gathering.
