A heartfelt thank you goes out to Epilogue Books for inviting us to share information about PVA-WI and our mission with your community. We are truly honored that you selected us as your charity of choice for your Book Bingo event.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to American Legion Post #382 Bar & Hall Rental Menomonee Falls, WI and its Auxiliary for hosting the event and for their generous donations and support too.

Earlier this year, Rick Miller set out on an extraordinary personal challenge: hiking the Appalachian Trail. While completing this iconic journey was a lifelong goal, Rick wasn't doing it solely for the miles. He also dedicated his hike to raising awareness and critical funds for PVA-WI.

Rick originally planned to be on the trail from late March through the end of September and pledged to match every donation made to PVA-WI, dollar for dollar, up to $1,000.

Although Rick was forced to end his journey after just one month on the trail, his accomplishment remains incredibly impressive. Even more remarkable was his commitment to our mission. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, $350 was raised during the campaign, and Rick honored his pledge by donating the full $1,000 matching gift—even though he was under no obligation to do so.

Rick is a true veteran's veteran, demonstrating the dedication, perseverance, and selflessness that define our community.

Thank you, Rick, for your support, your determination, and your generosity. And thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make this fundraiser a success.

It was great to visit the New Glarus Brewing Co. once again!

For those who may not know, Deb and Dan Carey, the New Glarus Brewing Company, and Only in Wisconsin Giving have been tremendous supporters of PVA-WI for many years. Their generosity has played an instrumental role in helping send our members to the National Veterans Wheelchair Games and supporting our overall mission.

This past Friday, we had the privilege of presenting them with a small token of our appreciation in recognition of their continued partnership and unwavering support. We were also honored to receive their renewed commitment to supporting PVA-WI with a ceremonial check presentation.

We are incredibly grateful for Deb and Dan, their outstanding team, and the culture of giving they have created. We never take any partnership, sponsorship, or charitable contribution for granted, and we are proud to work alongside organizations that make such a meaningful difference in the lives of our veterans.

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us empower veterans across Wisconsin!

Today isn’t just a long weekend, it’s a reminder.

A reminder that freedom has a cost—paid by those who never made it home.

While we gather with family, fire up the grill, or enjoy the extra day, take a moment to pause. Say their names. Remember their stories. Honor their sacrifice not just in words, but in how we live.

Because the best way to thank them… is to never take this life for granted.

This month, we recognize National Mobility Awareness Month and highlight the importance of access, independence, and inclusive mobility for veterans and people with disabilities.

At PVA–WI, we support mobility in many ways—from advocacy and programs that provide ADA‑related home and vehicle modifications to our adaptive sports and entertainment/recreation programs, helping veterans stay active, independent, and engaged.

Together, we’re working to remove barriers and expand opportunities for all veterans.
