There will be a project from the Milwaukee Art Museum (), Flower Crown Making with , and Facepainting with . is sponsoring to play us music in the Callejon de los Altares that will be filled with beautiful ofrendas. At 6 pm activities on Pierce will end - and we will move to Three Bridges Park for a copal ceremony with . Then we'll walk on the Hank Aaron State Trail to the for their Dia de los Mu***os Celebration! The first 200 people who join our event and sign in will get free tickets to the Domes!

Noche de Altares & La Caminata de Recuerdos!

Join the VIA team at Escuela Verde’s Día de los Mu***os celebration as we come together to honor and remember the loved ones who have shaped our lives and communities.

The celebration will feature student- and community-created altares, offering an opportunity to learn about the traditions, stories, and memories represented through each altar.

Afterward, join neighbors for a Remembrance Walk through the Menomonee Valley along the Hank Aaron State Trail to the Mitchell Park Domes, where we’ll continue the Día de los Mu***os tradition and celebrate the lives and memories of those we hold dear.

September Monthly Neighbor Meeting

At our September Monthly Neighbor Meeting, neighbors came together for an important conversation about breast cancer, health, and community support. The discussion covered breast health, recognizing changes, available resources, and the experiences of cancer survivors.

A special thank you to Gigi Sanchez from Fe, Vida y Esperanza for sharing her knowledge and helping create space for an important and empowering conversation in our community.

Neighborhood Walk on National Avenue

On September 28, neighbors came together for a Neighborhood Walk along National Avenue to experience the newly paved south side and learn more about the ongoing streetscape improvements. Participants visited local businesses, heard their stories, and learned more about what’s ahead as construction continues, including landscaping and finishing details planned for 2027.

Thank you to our partners Milwaukee DPW, MKE Walks, Wisconsin Bike Fed, and Bublr Bikes for their continued support and for helping bring neighbors together to learn and explore National Avenue.

Paseo por el vecindario en la Avenida Nacional

October Neighbor Meeting:

Clean Wisconsin will share how heavier rainfall and flooding affect our neighborhoods and what neighbors can do to prepare their homes and properties. The presentation will include practical information on rain barrels, native plants, and other ways to manage stormwater, while explaining why these conversations are important now as Milwaukee prepares for more frequent and intense rainfall in the years ahead.

🎬 MOVIE NIGHT AT CLARKE SQUARE PARK!

We had such a fun time at our first movie night this past week! It was great to see families and neighbors come together, and especially to see our youth enjoying the park, connecting with one another, and having a space to gather and be themselves.

We’re keeping the fun going with another FREE, family-friendly movie night under the stars!
