Volunteer of the Month: Leslie Spencer-Herrera! 🌟

This month, we’re proud to recognize Leslie Spencer-Herrera for her dedication to HANAN Relief and the families we serve.

For the past 15 months, she has volunteered with HANAN Relief, helping families from seeking their Green Cards to answering immigration-related questions. She describes her many volunteering experiences as a “quilt of memories,” shaped by the families she has met and their individual stories.

As a first-generation immigrant fluent in both Spanish and English, Leslie is grateful to have two languages and two cultures and to use that gift to help others. She hopes that as refugees and their children become more comfortable in their new homes, they too will be able to share the richness of their cultures with others.

Leslie said she is grateful for HANAN Relief, our staff, her fellow volunteers, and all the work being done to help others.

Thank you, Leslie, for sharing your time, skills, and compassion with us. Your dedication and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of the families we serve! đź’š
