To meet the President and CEO of the Propane Education & Research Council, Tucker Perkins, Author & Host of the well selling book & Podcast: "Path to Zero".

Mr. Perkins is an energy expert with four decades of experience in the liquid and renewable fuels industry, a nationally recognized speaker, author, podcaster, and advocate for practical approaches to reducing emissions. Since 2017, he has served as President and CEO of PERC, where he leads efforts to advance propane technology, safety, education, and innovation.

Mr. Perkins is also the author of Path to Zero: 12 Climate Conversations That Changed the World, published in 2024. The book explores the journey toward a net-zero future through conversations about energy, climate, technology, and innovation. Drawing from his Path to Zero podcast, Perkins presents a “wide path” approach that considers a range of technologies and energy solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As a frequent keynote speaker, Perkins brings a unique perspective on the intersection of energy, transportation, innovation, and decarbonization.

WCC needs your help! (it won’t cost anything but a moment of your time)

Wisconsin is currently trying to bring alternative fuel access to the Great River Road (a 3,000 miles National scenic Byway along the Mississippi River through ten states.) WCC has been charged with finding out who needs (or wants) alternative fuels (biodiesel, electricity, ethanol, hydrogen, natural gas, propane, and/or renewable diesel) along this road so that we can determine sites that require infrastructure and obtain funding for the expansion.

To meet Jeff Earl, Director of State Governmental Affairs at Clean Fuels Alliance America

Jeff manages Clean Fuels’ team of professionals responsible for government affairs in all 50 states. He engages in technical analysis of issues associated with biodiesel, renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel while representing the interests of Clean Fuels’ members to state regulatory bodies, legislatures and non-governmental organizations.

Jeff, a graduate from Southeast Missouri State University, comes to Clean Fuels from the Office of the Missouri Governor, where he served as legislative director. Previously, he held leadership positions with the Department of Corrections and the Office of the Missouri State Auditor.

Mr. Earl will be using his expertise in Biodiesel & Renewable diesel to give attendees a well rounded assessment of the current state of their use in fleet operations, how the market will develop, and policies which may affect its adoption. As an authority on the Renewable Fuel Standard and Tax & Clean Energy Policy, we are lucky to receive his insight on these key areas!

Heavy Machinery and Hands-On Magic

The "Wolves" of I-State Truck smashed the idea of standard career day presentations, bringing cool giveaways and a big rig that delivered an unforgettable experience at Chippewa Valley Technical College, organized by Slipstream and sponsored by Xcel Energy

🏗️ The electric Odyne Systems, LLC systems knuckle boom crane was a magnet for the students, who were invited to take the controls. Under the watchful eyes and patient guidance of the I-State professionals, Tim Wolf, General Sales Manager, and Paul Wolf, Application Specialist.

Maneuvering the joystick, students experienced firsthand the precision, power, and coordination required to handle heavy machinery. Laughter and gasps of wonder filled the air as the boom moved at their command. Paul opened the cab door, inviting students to climb aboard, others excitedly dangled on the steps, eagerly awaiting their turn. 🚚

Tim Wolf shared valuable insights into the future awaiting students at I-State Truck Center in nearby Marshville, Wisconsin. He discussed the variety of entry-level jobs available upon graduation, emphasizing that the skills required to build and maintain the trucks of tomorrow are actively being learned today. 🧰

To cap off the visit, the Wolves distributed the holy grail of student swag: a sleek, multi-plug USB charging cable compatible with every popular device on the market. It was a practical, tech-savvy tool tailored to the students' digital-native lifestyles, ensuring the I-State Truck brand would be remembered fondly every time they powered up their phones, tablets, or headphones.

Thank you I-state, for helping to plant the Seeds for a Sustainable Workforce, proving that education does not have to be confined to textbooks and lecture halls - By combining cutting-edge green technology, genuine mentorship, and hands-on operation of heavy machinery, you did much more than just show off cool equipment. You showed the next generation that the future of sustainable transportation is full of opportunity!

John Crosbie, Volkswagen & Audi USA Shop Foreman, Technical Trainer and Recruiting Coordinator at One Automotive, sparked curiosity at the Chippewa Valley Technical College. Bringing a wealth of educational props to provide an in-depth, high-tech education. Sporting his professional uniform and helmet, Crosbie electrified STEM education for the students. ⚡

Mr. Crosbie guided the kids through a station featuring core components of EV technology, each meticulously labeled with its specific function. Crosbie grounded the lesson in history, explaining that while EVs feel like a cutting-edge phenomenon, they actually originated back in 1821.

To make the mechanics relatable, he drew a brilliant parallel: an electric vehicle, he explained, is much more similar to the remote-control car sitting on his table than a traditional gas-powered internal combustion engine. This clever comparison successfully bridged the gap between play and professional engineering.

Crosbie’s deep knowledge and palpable passion left an impression, culminating in certificates of achievement that he provided the students, who proudly posed with them at the conclusion of the event.
