As we near our Third Annual Community Appreciation Iftar, we're reflecting on the beauty, community, and joy of last year's event. It is an honor to create & share this space with our community during the holy month of Ramadan. We shared laughs, stories, tears, and our hopes over iftar, and it reminded us why we do liberatory work to begin with: out of love for one another.

One of our favorite features from last year's iftar was the opportunity to shout-out those in our personal & collective communities who do so much for others. We're sharing some of those shout-outs now, with the rest coming soon. We hope seeing these photos and loving words from last year will make you all the more excited to rejoin us - or join us for the first time! - this year.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in 2025 - from our mamas who cooked, to our neighbors who keep showing up for liberation, to our guests from Hanan Refugees Relief Group & Zao MKE Church - the non-profit recipients of your zakat donations that night. To break bread with those you love & trust is the greatest gift we can provide & receive.

❌📷 DE-FLOCK MKE - JOIN US AT THE FIRE & POLICE COMMISSION MARCH 5 TO STOP THE SURVEILLANCE ABUSE!

We have been warning for months now that the trend of police officers abusing surveillance technology would come to light in Milwaukee, too. This week it was revealed that MPD Office Josue Ayala abused this technology to stalk a former romantic partner and associate. The presence of Flock cameras in our communities opens the door to abuse by the MPD and law enforcement agencies across the country - including ICE and other federal agencies.

Milwaukee4Palestine demands we DE-FLOCK MKE! Get the Flock Outta Here - it's the only way to protect our communities civil rights & liberties in the face of growing fascism in every law enforcement agency, including the MPD. We are taking this demand to the Milwaukee Fire & Police Commission (FPC).

We will have talking points available for folks to use to draft remarks - we are still developing those talking points and the email template for Common Council. We expect both to be posted to our bio by Sunday 3/1.

💐 Volunteer Spotlight: Movement Photographers 💐

Art is political. It lives in the words we choose for speeches & in posters lifted high at protests.

Photographers hold a special place in our hearts because they preserve acts that remind us of our humanity. They capture the emotion, courage, & care poured into organizing for collective liberation.

Today we're thanking four photographers who regularly capture M4P events, and we included their favorite photos. Please follow them & hire them for your next event!

: Andii is our first photographer friend in this space - we deeply admire & appreciate them. Their photos became the face of our campaigns & local movement: from Derco protests to our 2025 Community Appreciation Iftar. Andii sees the world thru a lens of love & respect for everyone, which is reflected in their work. Fittingly, Andii's favorite photos are ones displaying camaraderie between comrades.

: Yaseen is a beloved Palestinian photographer! His sharp eye captures our community in all conditions. His work with special equipment results in unique shots that transport you back to the moment - such a gift. His favorite photo is from a Journal Sentinel protest in the summer of 2025, when we demanded accurate reporting on the genocide.
resistance: Brooke is our newest friend & we're lucky to have their creativity with us. Their special way of framing photos communicates the context, emotion, and spirit of events all in one - we especially love the action shots with JOY in them! Brooke's favorite photo is from the first Gaza Solidarity Flotilla on the Milwaukee river in the summer of 2025. 

: Jonathan is a steadfast presence recording our mobilizations. He artfully composes narrative videos to share the work we're doing as a community to ban FRT & much more. We are beyond grateful for his tireless efforts and spirit. His favorite video is of the 1/22/26 FPC meeting about MPD Chief Norman's decision to "train" in "Israel." 💝🇵🇸 Palestine is our Valentine 💕🇵🇸

It was a beautiful day for our Valentine's Day banner drop and the community turned out to show our love for Palestine and commitment to liberation. 💕 We were able to show up at two locations yesterday and met new people and old friends alike.

❤️✊️🇵🇸 Heyyy y'all, we're sharing an overdue thank you to this wonderful community of tireless fighters for showing up and WINNING. We are so proud to do this work with you. You've been there with us since day 1 and we've only brought more folks along since.

We demonstrated that PALESTINE touches everything we care about, and talking about Palestinian liberation is only an asset to every fight - no matter how hard the zionists try to spin the narrative otherwise.

🚨🛑💥 BAN DEADLY POLICE EXCHANGES, STOP U.S. POLICE TERROR - MONTHLY VOLUNTEER MEETING & TEACH-IN 🇵🇸

Two weeks ago, Milwaukee turned out to express our disgust at MPD Chief Norman training in Israel. This training sets a dangerous precedent in Milwaukee and - coupled with all the existing police surveillance, PLUS all the "Israeli" tech MPD wants to acquire - lays the groundwork for even more deadly & fascist police violence in our city. We must organize to BAN ALL EXCHANGES of training, tech, and software between MPD & "Israel."

Join M4P and our siblings at Our Beautiful Struggle for our monthly volunteer meeting on February 19 to learn more about M4P's ongoing campaign against police surveillance & zionist trainings, the long history of U.S. police terror, and what we must do to stop all this now. Milwaukee Police Chief Norman went to Israel to receive “counterterrorism” training. Now the community is demanding a TOTAL BAN on these deadly exchanges of training, tech, & software with the Zionist entity.

Hear from local Palestinians about the impact of the chief’s training and warnings from the Palestinian experience about what comes next if these deadly exchanges aren’t banned now.

Milwaukee shared how they felt about this on 1/22/2026 at the Fire & Police Commission.

Residents implored MPD to not cooperate with ICE, but to prepare for their invasion and protect the people in Milwaukee, to bring an end to the police chase protocol, to end MPD use of facial recognition technology, and to never work with the occupying apartheid state of Israel and their genocidal regime.

🚨 TIME CHANGE FOR MEETING, SPREAD THE WORD!

It seems the FPC is playing games with the public and has changed the meeting time again - back to a 5:30PM start time. They can try every trick in the book to deter & silence us, but we'll still be there to demand accountability. Help us spread the word about the time and please join us when you can on Thursday.

We anticipate having enough people giving public comment that folks can still sign up even if they arrive at 6pm, but we want to show up en masse at the start.
