Terese's Flowers Of Hope 501c3 n.p. Inspired by Terese Ulickey's Random Acts of Kindness https://youtu.be/Dr0fwy9xvec

We are a certified 501c3 Non-profit operating out of Milwaukee Wisconsin. Our volunteers deliver flowers to cancer patients receiving treatment at Froedtert Clinical Cancer Center. A random act of kindness Terese Ulickey started in 2016 when she would give flowers to a random cancer patient before she started treatment herself; just to brighten their day. Terese's Family raised money to send her flowers when she started her third bout with metastatic breast cancer, the response was overwhelming and was able to fund two bouquets of flowers sent to Terese for each of her chemo treatments. Always thinking of others, Terese wanted to pay it forward and simply asked the nurses if there was a patient that needed a smile that day. In August of 2019 Terese passed away after battling cancer for more than 6 years. Her family and friends now help run the non-profit that is fully funded by donations and operated by volunteers. With over 250 deliveries and counting, we have spread many smiles and most importantly, a lot of hope to cancer patients all across Wisconsin and the United States.

We are proud to announce the launch of our brand new website! www.teresesflowersofhope.com is now live and functioning better than ever. You still need to use our signup page to sign up for deliveries but everything else can be accessed on our new website. Merchandise can be viewed on the website and can be purchased directly with us just send an email or text. We cannot thank Michele Missmkeorg enough for all of the hours she has put in helping create and organize all of our ideas. Check it out and let us know what you think as we continue to make improvements.

Happy Monday! Today we had two wonderful bouquets created by Alfa Flower Shop and delivered by Kathy Geracie and new volunteer Nancy Martin. They met two beautiful ladies that loved the flowers. One of the ladies was having her last treatment so the flowers were very meaningful to her. We hope the very best for our recipients going forward in their journeys and we hope all our supporters have a wonderful week!

Happy Flower Friday and go Brewers! Kurt and Rachel Preston delivered these beautiful bouquets to two patients on different ends of treatment. They delivered to a women who finished her very last treatment. To say she was overwhelmed is an understatement. Lots of hugs and tears and thank you’s. The next delivery was to a teenager having his very first …. Very long treatment. He was very grateful but Mom needed the reminder that they have a village supporting them. There were no words just tears and hugs! Two very big reminders of the reason we do what we do. Thank you to our volunteers and we wish our recipients all the best as they go onward.

Today we had two new volunteers join us in Lyndsey Sama and Lisa Walz. Two wonderful deliveries to two patients receiving different levels of care at FCCC. Different deliveries to two great people. There was a buzz in the air with the coming Brewer game that has brought the city together. We wish our recipients all the best as they progress in their journeys. Some flower deliveries stay with you long after you leave. Yesterday was one of those emotional days but those help highlight exactly why we do what we do.

One recipient was on the first day of a new cycle of treatment. She received flowers from us for the first time in our first few years of delivering. We could tell she really wanted to keep the flowers, but she felt bad. We just knew how much they meant to her, so we told her they were hers to keep. The moment she realized we meant it, she broke down in tears. Sometimes, it’s the smallest gestures that mean the most.

The second delivery went to someone who was still just a teenager. Seeing someone so young facing this journey was absolutely heartbreaking. His family was overwhelmed with emotion, and it was a reminder of just how much cancer impacts not only the person fighting it, but their entire family.

Days like today remind us why we do what we do. Every bouquet carries more than flowers. It carries love, hope, compassion, and a reminder that no one has to face this journey alone. We may never fully know what someone is going through, but we can always show up, offer kindness, and let them know there is always HOPE for brighter days ahead. Thank you Alfa Flower Shop for making these awesome bouquets, and thanks to Katie Dennert and Lisa Anne for making these great deliveries.

Last Wednesday and Thursday the Martin Luther High School Boys and Girls volleyball had a “Pink Out” event highlighting breast cancer and raising funds for Terese’s Flowers! Monica Lee and the other dedicated members of the staff helped organize, decorate, and promote this awesome pair of nights. Through free will offerings, merchandise sales, and student donations the staff and student of ML raised $1,000 for TFH! On top of that, we had multiple new volunteers sign up to deliver hope with us! We cannot thank Monica, the ML Staff, and the students of Martin Luther High School enough for their awesome support year after year.

Happy Flower Friday! It’s rivalry this week in Wisconsin and the staff took part as well! Everyone is a fan of flowers no matter the team they root for on Sundays. Today Sue delivered these beautiful bouquets to two patients receiving their first treatments. They were both so upbeat and the flowers made it even better! Large smiles and both recipients were very grateful. Thank you Sue for spreading Hope and thank you to the wonderful staff for always helping us out on our deliveries!
