Milwaukee Junior Fire Institute

A Milwaukee Fire Department organization for young adults interested in a career in the fire service.

The Milwaukee Junior Fire Institute is a program created by the Milwaukee Fire Department and designed for young adults between the ages of 14 and 20 who are interested in a career in fire service. The JFI program meets on the first Saturday of each month and is designed to teach young adults how the fire department works. Students are issued turnout gear, taught about the fire department chain of command, and learn about the SCBA and other firefighting equipment.

This Memorial Day weekend, the Milwaukee Junior Fire Institute honors the men and women who died while serving our country.
