🌟 April is officially proclaimed Second Chance Month in Wisconsin🌟

A sincere thank you to Governor Tony Evers for recognizing the importance of second chances and supporting the safe, successful reentry of justice-involved individuals across our state.

At My Way Out, this month holds deep meaning. Every day, we stand alongside individuals working to rebuild their lives after incarceration, offering reentry support, housing assistance, workforce development, and peer mentorship. We believe that with the right support, justice-impacted individuals can and do transform their lives and communities.

As Governor Evers’ proclamation reminds us:
“Wisconsinites deserve to be treated with dignity and respect... extending second chances strengthens our economy, workforce, and public safety.”

We couldn’t agree more. The path to redemption is not only possible — it's essential. Let’s continue investing in people, restoring hope, and creating opportunities where they are most needed.

📣 Join us this Second Chance Month as we reaffirm our commitment to second chances, equity, and meaningful justice reform.

"This is my first ever certificate," said Aquarius, sharing his testimony in front of his mother during our Building a Path to Success graduation. Feeling welcomed and knowing you're not alone on your re-entry journey is incredibly powerful. We are honored to continue delivering this program with our partners, Milky Way Tech Hub and University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension knowing we're equipping participants with the right tools.

It takes a village, solidarity, and collaboration to build a world where we can all thrive. It takes a community to welcome our justice-impacted citizens and support them through their reentry journey. You can play a vital role in their journey, and we at My Way Out hope to be a part of the community which helps you thrive as well as creating a world where injustices do not go ignored. Where transformation and growth are a part of everyone’s journey. Through communal efforts this can become our reality!

Appleton! Tomorrow will be our last showing of our short video, “Mistakes Do Not Define Who you Are.” We would love for you to attend and share your perspective on reentry. Your perspective and experiences would be valuable additions to our discussions. We hope to raise awareness and unify our community to support our returning citizens in their reentry journey. Following the video screening we will have facilitated discussion, and we will share reentry-based resources and volunteer opportunities.
