Year 17
2,579... that's how many boxes were distributed throughout SouthEast Wisconsin...delivering the last ones on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day night. Even though drop off locations were shifted and with uncertainty, our entire community showed up, I even received donations from half way across the country to further the mission and we did!
*17 schools- a record (I personally saw teachers and school counselors cry because they were about to gift to their students...)
*Hospitality Center
*2-Womens shelters
*People receiving treatment for Cancer.
*Children's Hospital intake division
* Veterans-homeless and or alone
*memory care facilities
* group homes
*Elderly
*and the homeless living on the streets, we found them!
This entire undertaking could never be possible without the space provided to us by several local businesses...
Milaeger's Stinebrink's Kenosha Piggly Wiggly Spitfires on State
And to all the elves, even from afar, every bit of time and resources given helped to make this year our most successful by how far we reached and gifted... Patti Wilson Andersen our chief wrapper and sorter, we'd be lost without you and Anthony, who sleighrides all over Kenosha and Racine playing Santa with Shoeboxes in towπ²
"Thank you" could never be enough, however, the impact of every kindness act is the definition of "humanity" and I'm privileged to have a front row seat to witness the goodness and love...π
It definitely takes a village...
Never transactional, but impactful.
