Second Pilot: Donation of 100 exercise books, 100 pens, and 100 pencils to students of Glang and Dopare Primary and Junior High Schools.
Our project took us to the Wa East district of the Upper West region, where pupils of Glang primary school and Dopare Junior high school were in dire need of motivation and push, through the benevolence of our donors, we procured 100 exercise book, 100 pens, 100 pencils for the pupils both community schools in Wa East.
Our first stop was at Glang, and the recipients were thrown into frenzy after seeing and hearing our purpose for coming. We presented 2 books each, 2pens and 2pencils each to the students at the Upper Primary at Glang primary school. With support from the Assembly member for the two communities, headmasters and teachers, we inspired students to never give up despite the difficulties they may encounter in the process of acquiring an education.
Our second stop was at Dopare Junior high school, while the headteacher was absent, the assistant head mistress was present, Assembly member, School Management Committee Chairman, Tendaana representative, and an Islamic claric in the community were present to witness this important donation.
Again, at Dopare, students at the JHS also received 2 books, pens, pencils, others received only books per their need, others also received pens and pencils, we made sure every person benefited from the benevolence of this vision.
At Dopare, we identified a young man (Mr Muslim) whose dream is to attend Islamic Senior high school, but he is afraid he might not make it because he is also having a disability, with a torn uniform, we assured him of our support at every level to help him achieve his dream. We promised to commence processes at getting him a new uniform in the coming weeks. On his face, was written " now I can go to Islamic SHS" .
The assembly man, unit committee chairman, SMC chairman, and head mistress were full of praise for the gesture, their prayer is that, we should not end there, but also to ensure that, our CEO and her friends from abroad comes to visit when they come into the country, to see the lives they are uplifting with these gestures.
The team (Tinus Tuozie, Mugeez and Atta Kamintanye-assembly man) took off to Bulenga and back to Wa.
The situation of Water crises at Glang and Dopare is a story for another day, as there is only one borehole serving the two communities.
