Mother Nature changed the date, but she did NOT change the celebration. 🍂

Harvest Fest is officially happening THIS SUNDAY, September 27th from 3–8 PM at the Farley Center, 2299 Spring Rose Rd., Verona.

And yes, EVERYTHING STAYS THE SAME. Same vendors. Same entertainment. Same food. Same activities. Same FREE everything. 🙌🏾

We’re coming back with the full experience: live music, African drummers and dancers, aerialists, jugglers, stilt walkers, magic show, children’s activities, face painting, caramel apples, popcorn, cotton candy, produce from our farm, free food, w**e and b**r, shuttle service and more.

The rain may have made us move the date, but it didn’t move the intention. Harvest Fest is about community, Black joy, our children, our elders, the land that feeds us, and celebrating what we can create together.

Clear skies are projected, and we are READY. 🌻🍁

Yesterday was one for the books! 🙏🏾❤️
What started as a DUGD414 Mini Day Tour turned into a full day of rhythm, movement, community, culture, and connection — ending with a beautiful Nigerian wedding reception in Chicago! 🇳🇬🥁💃🏾

A HUGE thank you to Butler and the the Hood team for welcoming us and allowing our young people and dancers to share their energy, culture, and gifts. 🙏🏾

Much love and appreciation to Symphony Swan Zawadi, The CR8TV HOUSE, and the entire team for creating space for us and being part of the journey. ❤️

And to our dancers — THANK YOU! 💪🏾🥁Qui-qui Morehouse Jakira Sylla
Thank you for putting in the rehearsal time, showing up, learning, growing, and helping build this collective. What we’re creating is bigger than one performance. We’re building community, discipline, cultural connection, confidence, and collective power.

I’m especially grateful to the parents and for the people who continue to stand beside me and help carry this vision:

❤️ Chandra Simmons
❤️ Tony Mays
❤️Tamara N. Thompson

Thank you for being part of the DUGD414 team and helping bring the vision to life.

Yesterday reminded me that when we put in the work, stay committed to the culture, and move together, opportunities can take us places we never expected.

The drum carried us. The dancers carried the energy. The collective made it happen. 🥁🔥

This is Drums Up Guns Down 414.

We don’t just perform.
We build.
We connect.
We heal.
We move together.

🪘Donations needed !!!
DUGD414 Rhythm Rider

The DUGD414 Rhythm Rider will provide reliable transportation for our youth, drums, and guest artists to rehearsals, camps, performances, workshops, and community events.

This summer, we had to pause parts of our programming because we didn’t have a dependable way to transport our drums as well as youth and guest instructor’s . With your support, we can remove that barrier and continue serving our community.

Every donation makes a difference. Thank you for helping us keep the rhythm moving.
