Are you attending the 2026 Global Spine Congress in Istanbul? If so, check out the symposium developed in collaboration with the AO Spine Knowledge Forum Degenerative, "Optimizing Outcomes in Multi-Level Cervical Degenerative Disease: When to Fuse, Replace, or Hybridize" on Friday, May 29! Leading experts will debate the merits of ACDF, arthroplasty, and hybrid constructs for both two-level and extensive three-or-more-level pathology. The session is designed to not only clarify current best practices but also to illuminate knowledge gaps and define future research priorities.

CSRS has joined fellow spine societies in making a joint statement regarding biomechanical spacers. CSRS President, Thomas Mroz, MD, commented: "The Cervical Spine Research Society was founded on the principle that the best patient care is driven by rigorous science. The evidence supporting interbody biomechanical devices in cervical fusion is not in question - it has been built over decades by the very researchers and surgeons who comprise our membership. When payers classify these devices as experimental, they are not making a clinical judgment. They are contradicting one. CSRS stands firmly with every major spine society demanding that coverage policies reflect the science, and that the decision of which implant belongs in a patient's spine remains where it has always belonged - with the surgeon and the patient."
