Come out and join your neighbors for music, a movie, food, fun, and community!

I’m inviting residents to Movie Night, a free community event on Saturday, June 20 starting at 5:00 p.m. at Cooper Park (8701 W. Chambers St.).

The evening will kick off with live music, along with the Traveling Beer Garden. Food trucks will be on site, plus popcorn and ice cream—the first 100 servings of each are compliments of Brewery Credit Union, Western Building Products & Alderman Lamont Westmoreland.

At around 7:30 p.m., just after sunset, Mrs. Doubtfire will show under the stars just south of the pavilion. The classic film, starring Robin Williams, tells a story about a divorced actor who is willing to go to any lengths to get his children back, even posing as a matronly Scottish housekeeper - bringing plenty of heart and humor.

❗️We’ll also have a free drawing for a 65-inch smart TV. To enter, you must be 18+ and live in the 5th District❗️

I hope you’ll join me for a great night out in Cooper Park. Bring your family, bring your chairs, and enjoy an evening of community, entertainment, and summer fun!

UPDATE!!! We received the permit to block off the intersection this Sunday (May 31). We will start at noon. Come help us add the final touches!!
