Yard signs are up and posters will be appearing throughout the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Mother Nature is even cooperating with some much needed rain.

One month out and so far so good. Hope to see lots of people exploring our neighborhood and seeing some great gardens.

Sadly we had one gardener who had to drop out for this year due to some health issues but we still have 13 who are so excited and thankful for the rain today. Gardens and lawns should be very happy right about now.

Watch for yard signs to go up next week as well as posters in the next week or so. Tell your friends and enjoy a walk through a wonderful neighborhood and see what the inventive and creative people in Riverwest have been able to accomplish in their small secluded gardens.

Sunday, July 12 from 11am to 4pm. Tickets on sale the day of the event in Garden Park at the corner of Locust and Bremen. Tickets are $5.

Contacting of gardeners for the 2026 Garden Tour is underway with eight gardeners committed to the tour. More emails will be going out over the next week with hopes of recruiting an additional six or seven.

It's also a great time to start ordering seeds for the upcoming summer. Nothing helps beat the cold winter blahs like looking through seed catalogs and imagining how the upcoming summer's garden will look.

Good morning, Riverwest gardeners and tonight you can celebrate the closest supermoon of the year. It is the second of three consecutive supermoons in 2025. Not only that but it also coincides with the peak of the Ta**us meteor shower and the start of the Leonid meteor shower.

November's supermoon is called the Beaver Moon because, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac November is when the beavers begin to take shelter.

Truly a strange Summer. My night blooming cactus that normally bloom in early August is just now putting out buds. Weird but cool. I thought I wouldn't have any this year.

Tomorrow will be the brightest super full moon of 2025. It is known as the Hunter's Moon or Falling Leaves Moon. It is the first super full moon of 2025 but November and December will also be super full moons (November 5 and December 4)
