The Community Development Alliance (CDA) is an affiliation of community development funders and practitioners that has collaborated for more than a decade on neighborhood improvement efforts in Milwaukee. CDA is proud to have the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) as a funding partner. Its mission is to help Wisconsin thrive by expanding access to affordable housing choices by working with lenders, developers, local government, nonprofits, community groups and others to implement its low-cost financing programs.

Since its creation in 1972, WHEDA has financed the development of more than 88,700 affordable rental units, helped more than 141,800 families purchase a home, and provided more than 29,280 small business and agricultural loan guarantees.

Also, congratulations to Elmer Moore, Jr., WHEDA's CEO and executive director, for being named one of the Milwaukee Business Journal's top executives!

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood! On Good Neighbor Day, we’re celebrating the people, partnerships and shared commitment that make neighborhoods stronger.

Members of the CDA team recently traveled to Pittsburgh for the Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference, where we had the opportunity to step into a familiar neighborhood at the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood exhibit at the Heinz History Center.

The moment was a fitting reminder of something we believe deeply: strong communities are built when we show up for one another.
