When something bad happens, there are friends who send good wishes and maybe even deliver a meal or give you a gift. But if you are lucky, you have that best friend who walks the journey with you, asks what you need, provides help, and takes your call - whatever the hour. In this time of war in Ukraine, we are that best friend standing up for those in need, reaching out from the depth of our heart
s and saving the most vulnerable, on the front lines and beyond--children, elderly, handicap, sick, and injured. Friends of Be an Angel provide large scale humanitarian aid, critical medical evacuations, mental health programming, and more for those who are most at risk due to their age, disability, gender, or proximity to the front line. Closing the Gaps in Humanitarian Aid
Over 17 million people are in dire need of humanitarian assistance. We delivered and distributed more than $65 million worth of aid to the internally displaced people within Ukraine, hospitals, orphanages, community centers, refugee camps, and those at the front lines—generators, ambulances, medications and medical equipment, clean water, food and clothing. Emotional support and compassion are invaluable aspects of humanitarian assistance, especially in times of crisis and conflict. Providing care and a kind word can make a significant difference in helping people cope with the trauma and hardships they are facing. While material assistance is crucial for meeting immediate physical needs, addressing the emotional and psychological well-being of individuals and communities is equally important. Rescue and Resettlement
Since March 2022, our network has evacuated more than 18,000 most vulnerable from the front line to the safety of the European Union and the United States. Undertaking complicated critical medical evacuations and providing intensive case management for refugees with complex medical needs, such as babies born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), is an incredibly challenging but vital humanitarian effort. SMA is a severe genetic neuromuscular disorder that requires specialized medical care and ongoing support. Healing Trauma in Children Today Means Healthy Society Tomorrow
The emotional toll of PTSD lasts long after someone finds refuge from the missiles and bullets, especially for children. Together, with the Ministry of Education in Ukraine, and the Office of the Ombudsman we are implementing a special programming for children in Ukrainian schools. The educational program teaches social and emotional learning, resilience, and well-being to children aged 5-13. We Are Stronger Together: Stand with us for Ukraine
