olunteer opportunities. Our goal is to foster POSITIVE relationships between parents, teachers, administrators and our community at Milton Elementary School. We strive to build engagement, offer families and parents many ways to get involved in their child’s school, encourage ALL of our students to thrive to their fullest potential and communicate the exciting, inspiring and wonderful things happening at Milton Elementary. All posts and interactions on the MESDE PTO page MUST follow the below guidelines:
1. Be honest and fair: Remember, the MESDE PTO is a group of volunteers, who give of their personal time. We value opinions but if the content is offensive, or out of context, the MESDE PTO will delete it and may block a user if such content continues to be posted.
2. Be friendly and helpful, considerate and caring: This page is meant to build relationships and we hope it will inspire greater volunteerism through our many school activities. Always, treat others as you want to be treated; do not use the internet to attack or abuse. If you encounter a complaint, concern or incorrect information, please contact the MESDE PTO directly.
3. Be courageous and strong: Your voice counts. Careful monitoring of social media is important in maintaining a positive image of the MESDE PTO, its volunteers, friends, and affiliates. But we are volunteers who need your help. If you see posts, comments, or behavior that you are concerned about, please notify the MESDE PTO account administrator, or an Executive Board member immediately.
4. Be responsible for what you say and do: Social networking tools can help us communicate but what you post online may be around for a long time. If you don’t feel comfortable asking a question here, please know you can reach out to us via email at any time, talk to any of us at a school function or stop by an MESDE PTO meeting.
5. Respect yourself and others: Respect other people’s privacy and your own personal boundaries by using discretion when sharing online. Please do not post pictures of any children other than your own without full approval from their parents. Those pictures shared by the MESDE PTO on this page are only done with photo releases from parents. When to Contact School Administration Directly? Certain questions or comments should be kept offline and instead be directed to your Building Principal. Any statements or questions that fall into these categories will be deleted from the MESDE PTO page. These include:
1. Questions about Milton Elementary School policies, such as attendance, discipline, behavior issues, etc.
2. Concerns about your child’s educational experience, including test scores, results, academic standards, etc.
3. Comments, questions or criticism about particular events that transpire on your child’s bus, in the classroom or during school-sponsored activities.
