After all the messages asking, "Matt and Walker are coming back... right?" we finally get to say...

THEY SURE ARE! 💚🎃

We're thrilled to welcome back Matt James and Walker Tatum as your hosts for the 2026 West Virginia Pumpkin Festival Queen's Pageant! 👑

If you've been to Pumpkin Pageant night before, you know exactly why everyone loves this announcement. Give these two a microphone, and the rest just seems to fall into place.

Matt James now serves as Vice President of Marshall Health Network Foundations, where he leads the philanthropic efforts for the hospital system. He's also an adjunct faculty member in Marshall University's Honors College and the host of the nationally award-winning Marshall After Hours. The only thing we love more than seeing Matt behind a microphone... is handing him one at Pumpkin. 🎤😉

Of course, it wouldn't be the same without Walker Tatum, Director of Alumni Engagement at Marshall University. Walker has spent years bringing people together, whether as Marshall's Student Body President or now connecting more than 120,000 alumni. The only thing bigger than his love for Marshall is his personality, and once he starts talking, you'll understand why we couldn't imagine anyone else on stage.

We honestly couldn't ask for a better pair to help us celebrate another incredible year of the West Virginia Pumpkin Festival.

Between summer schedules, vacations, getting photos together, and maybe talking yourself into finally hitting “submit”… we decided to give you a little more time. 🧡

We are officially EXTENDING the WV Pumpkin Festival Pageant application deadline! 🎉

If you've been thinking about entering, this is your extra sign. Maybe you've been nervous. Maybe you keep saying, “I'll do it next year.” Or maybe you just haven't finished that application yet. 👀
