⚠️ TOURNAMENT UPDATE: NEW DATE – OCTOBER 16 ⛳

Due to Hurricane Isaias and the anticipated impacts to our area, the Santa Rosa County Navy League has made the decision to postpone the 2026 CAPT Walt Reese Golf Tournament originally scheduled for Friday, October 9.

📅 NEW TOURNAMENT DATE:
Friday, October 16, 2026

While we know everyone was looking forward to hitting the course this Friday, the safety of our golfers, active-duty service members, sponsors, volunteers, and tournament staff comes first.

The good news is, we're only moving it back one week, and we look forward to welcoming our sold-out field on October 16!

We sincerely appreciate everyone's patience, flexibility, and continued support of the Santa Rosa County Navy League and CAPT Walt Reese Golf Tournament.

⛳ WEATHER UPDATE | CAPT WALT REESE GOLF TOURNAMENT ⛈️

The Santa Rosa County Navy League is closely monitoring the weather as Invest 92 continues to develop in the Gulf and could impact our CAPT Walt Reese Golf Tournament scheduled for Friday, October 9.

At this time, the tournament remains scheduled as planned. We are hoping for the best and looking forward to a great day on the course!

We also want to make sure our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and active-duty teams have plenty of notice should conditions change.

📅 Wednesday, October 7: The SRC Navy League will provide an updated tournament status based on the latest forecast.

⛳ Thursday, October 8: The golf course will make the final determination regarding course conditions and whether the tournament can proceed on Friday.

🌧️ Rain Date: If weather or course conditions force us to postpone, our alternate tournament date will be Friday, October 16, 2026.

With a sold-out tournament and a full field, we know everyone is excited to get out there, and we are too! Our priority is making sure we can host a safe and enjoyable tournament while giving everyone as much advance notice as possible.

Congratulations to the newest rotary winged aviators who were pinned Aug. 14 during the Training Air Wing FIVE Winging Ceremony.

* CAPT Zachary Glass, USCG, USCG Liaison to Naval Flight Training (NAS Pensacola; NAS Whiting Field; NAS Corpus Christi), was the guest speaker for the event.
*Over 37,800 Naval designation numbers have been assigned since Whiting has produced rotary winged warfighters.
*These warfighters will now be assigned to their Fleet Replacement Squadrons to learn their fleet aircraft.
