Cook for a new kind of faith community. It is a progressive, Africnetric, open and affirming, radically inclusive, peace and justice, antiracist faith community. It is a community of extravagant welcome and radical inclusion with love at the center of all we do. We intentionally welcome all persons regardless of race, color, ancestry, age, gender, gender expression, affectional orientation, abili

ty, or social class. We celebrate the Creator's diversity! Culturally, it is an African-centered congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of an African American worship service with prayer, preaching and song from the Baptist, Methodist and Pentecostal traditions and ministries which address the Black community--- housing, employment, cooperative economics, food, healthcare, transportation, asset building, antiracism, education, and the environment among others. Our theology is progressive with elements of black liberation, womanist, and ubuntu theologies. While we are Christ-centered, we encourage questions and do not have a litmus test for belonging. Our hope is to be affiliated with the United Church of Christ (ucc.org), the Fellowship of Affirming Ministries (http://www.radicallyinclusive.com/), and the Alliance of Baptists (http://www.allianceofbaptists.org/).
