We will not be having our derby this year. This marks the third year we have not been able to have our derby (covid, weather, weather). We will be rethinking our future and keep you updated. If/when we get fishable ice please stay safe and good luck!

We were going to start selling tickets for our derby this Saturday, but that has now changed. We are going to push the ticket sales until JAN 13th. We are closely watching the weather and as of right now we will push sales off one week and reevaluate if we will even have a derby this year. We are very sorry for the inconvenience but safety is on our minds. A lot of work goes into this and we don’t want to have what we were handcuffed with last year.

Hello all! My phone has been blowing up for three weeks now. We have some good news and a little bit of bad news.

Bad news- Tickets will not be available before Christmas! Once again we can only sell 200 tickets so some will be disappointed they didn’t get a ticket. It is not in the cards this year to explore new options to expand.

Best News Ever- After much debate we will be having the derby this year!

Tickets will be available on January 6th, the club opens at 11am. The price will remain the same $30 per ticket. The derby will take place Feb. 16-18th and our banquet/final weigh In will happen at 1pm on the 18th. This is a lake Champlain derby only. Tickets are NOT transferable so when you show up on Saturday please have all names, phone numbers. We will not hold tickets, first come first serve basis. Anyone who has fished in the past knows the tickets sell fast. I am predicting they will be sold out on SAT JAN. 6th ( I will be reminding you of that date throughout the next couple of weeks).

We appreciate your support. At this time the only thing we are looking for is fishable ice. If you would be so kind to donate fish leading up to the derby please get ahold of me. If people/businesses would like to donate money, or door prizes please send me a message. We strive to make our derby the best around!

Collected all the money, finished the P&L, and cut the checks. I was expecting a smaller donation than past years with the unexpected ice conditions and not being able to fish, You all proved me wrong! We didn’t fish but we made the best of it. We had 116 door prizes, raffle prizes, appreciation give aways, gun raffles and an amazing meal. This is what separates us from other derbies. Last night the Arrowhead Eagles Perch Derby donated $12,042.58 to the Benoit fund. Thank you so much for the support and remember tickets go on sale the Saturday before Christmas, I am guessing all 200 tickets will sell in 6 hours next year!!!

Last night I was collecting some money and receipts. Tonight I dropped the guns off at powderhorn so the winners can collect. Working on the P&L as we speak and the numbers are shocking. We appreciate everything you guys do and we are going to have a great donation this year.

We only had 10 people that wanted a refund. I had a first come first serve waiting list of 29 people. Once again we are sold out and hoping for a full house tomorrow. The club opens at 11, we will start the banquet at 1. Once again we thank you all, we hope for a great turn out. So much work has gone into this banquet for tomorrow and we wish there were fish on the board but the prizes won’t disappoint.

We will have:

$5.00 raffle with some great prizes
$10.00 5 gun raffle
50/50 raffle
$5.00 Vexilar raffle (2 FL 18)
114 door prizes
29 (one for each kid) gifts
Free koozies/hats/sunglasses
An awesome perch dinner

As expected we have had some people ask for refunds. We have asked people to let us know by Friday 2/17 if they want a refund or not. I am not sure of how many people will ask for a refund.

We will be reselling the tickets to people on a first come first served basis. The tickets will not be sold at a discounted price. If you have ever been to our banquet you know that you get a great meal and with your ticket you also have a chance at the numerous door prizes we have collected. We have the best prizes around.

There will also be a bonus to all ticket holders that we are working on right now!

Please send me a message if you would like to be on the list for Sunday. The banquet starts at 1pm.

Thank you all for supporting, even though we aren’t fishing I think we are going to raise money for the Benoit fund!

With the unfortunate chain of events that has happened in the last week, and the upcoming forecast for this week we have made the very hard decision to cancel our perch derby this year. The very last thing we want is to put any one in harms way.

There is no way of determining the weather when we start selling our tickets just before Christmas. With that being said a lot of money has been spent, a lot of hard work has been done, and our food is all ready for this weekends event. We have been trying to wrap our heads around what we can do to still make this fundraiser profitable. We have some time sensitive prizes that we have to unload this year. Businesses have made monetary donations where the checks have already been cashed. This doesn’t get thrown together in a weeks time!

So what’s next? Here is what we have come up with!

You can get a full refund for the derby. I am asking that you please send me a message so I can have the money available in envelopes, I will have to get this money out of the bank so please just don’t show up to the club and ask for a refund. If you do not want a refund but want to donate your $30 entry fee to the cause please let me know that as well. If you don’t reach out by 2/17 we are going to assume that you still want to use your ticket for Sunday.

There will still be a banquet on Sunday February 19th at 1pm!!!!!! Please come join us! Your entry ticket will still get you a wonderful perch meal, and a chance to win a door prize. We still have the gun raffle ($10 per ticket), we still have all the raffle prizes ( shanty, auger, crossbow, ski passes,etc.) which are $5 a ticket , and we still have all the door prizes.
What we WILL NOT be doing is weighing in fish, giving out trophies (we will use these next year), paying out for the top perch.

We are very sorry for all of this but we want everyone to be safe and we feel that we are making the right call for this year. PLEASE come use your ticket and enjoy all the work that has taken place. We can still tell fish stories, win some prizes and eat a fantastic meal.

Two weeks from today our derby starts. As I look back at past winners I reminisce of each year. I look at this plaque I made in December 2007 (and see the imperfections), but I laugh because I told myself I was only going to run this derby until the plaque was full. I look back and see how our derby has changed,progressed, and what it has become! We have raised a considerable amount of money, and we actively share it throughout the community. For the past couple weeks people have been asking “what will you do if there is no ice”? I know what my good buddy Eric would’ve said “calm down, it’s Vermont! There will be ice you jackwagon!”

You are all aware on how quickly you have to buy tickets when they go on sale. We usually have 8-15 kids 15 and under signed up for our derby. This year we have 34!!!! We are pleased to be getting these kids involved in the outdoors.
