We had a full schedule of wonderful - and fun - speeches tonight! This was our meeting at the new Keller Williams location, which turned out to be perfect!

Theme: Awards
Word of the Day: entice

Our Toastmaster, Ken, led us through three inspiring speeches. The first was by Usha, who gave us a very personal story and urged us to reach out to those who may need it. Then, Rashi also gave another personal story, about her triumphs and trials in tennis and her mother's support. Then, we heard an icebreaker from Rutvik, who gave another personal story about why he joined Toastmasters. To paraphrase our General Evaluator, Dave, ordinary people can live extraordinary lives.
Then, Nidhi, our Table Topics Master, asked us all questions about how we would react if we won our dream awards!

It was great to see everyone. We had some great laughs and heard some thought-provoking speeches.

Theme: Risk-Taking
Word of the Day: badger

Our Toastmaster, Deepa, did a wonderful job leading us through three inspiring speeches. The first was by Salamat, who shared with us his experience of culture clash at a wedding he attended. Then, we heard from Usha, who stressed the importance and how's of reaching out for help in situations of domestic abuse. Then, we heard from John, who gave us a walkthrough of what Toastmasters offers and how to make the best of it.
For Table Topics, Minh asked us all to sell an orange pen. There were some creative and funny answers!

It was a lively meeting tonight! We heard three speeches and a wonderful session of Table Topics.

Theme: Traditions
Word of the Day: equanimous

Our wonderful Toastmaster, Aditi, led us through a session with three speeches: the first was by Prabhu, who gave an Icebreaker speech about increasing perceived value; the second was by Valerie, who talked about having both "analytical" and "supportive" communication styles; and the third was by Nidhi, who shared her journey to running a 5K. Woohoo!
Then, our Table Topics Master, Rutvik, asked us questions about our traditions, both personal and familial. We got to learn a lot about each other!

Great meeting tonight, everyone! It's great to see some old faces and new!

Theme: Career Paths
Word of the Day: potential

Tonight, our Toastmaster, Nidhi, led us through a wonderful session of discussing various career paths: triumphs and regrets. We heard from three speakers - Minh, Christine, and Deepa - who shared with us their fears and gave us advice. Then we had a wonderful, but brief, Table Topics session from Auphie, who asked us all our thoughts on our chosen careers.

We did not have awards tonight because of the time constraint, but everyone did amazing!

Tonight was both fun and inspiring, with three powerful speeches and a hilarious take on Table Topics!

Theme: Storytelling
Word of the Day: anecdote

We heard three speeches, the first by veteran member and club coach John, who told us about the power of human intelligence. Then, we heard from Usha, about her journey to confidence when she landed a new job. Finally, Rashi told us a story about her first day of school in a new city and the friends she made.

Myo led us through a very creative Table Topics session, in which we randomly picked from a selection of places and objects, and we came up with our own stories. It was very fun!

What an amazing contest tonight, with so many great speeches! Everyone, even guests, helped out to make our contest a huge success.

Tonight was an amazing testament, as our General Evaluator Dave said, to the power of storytelling! Perfect theme!

Theme: Remembrance
Word of the Day: nostalgic

Our three speeches tonight were three stories. First was by Rashi, who told us through examples and an amazing personal story, of the power of the butterfly effect. Then we heard from Karpagam, who opened up about a difficult time in her life when she sustained a bad injury. Then, we heard an Icebreaker from Fatemeh, who came from a family of high expectations and came to reconcile her own place and her own journey in it all.
For Table Topics, Christine had the creative idea of displaying a series of words and had us pick select words and talk about it. We all shared a lot of great stories there!

Today was a packed day, both on our schedule and in the room. It was great to see so many faces old and new!

Theme: Bargain Hunting
Word of the Day: perplexed

We heard three speeches tonight. The first was an Ice Breaker, given by an esteemed newer member, Rashi. She did a fabulous job! Then we heard a speech from Christine about the power of content marketing. We then got to hear from Salamat, who told us his leadership style and the moment he knew.
Then Nidhi asked us all stories about bargain hunting - great finds and not-so-great finds. What a fun topic!

We had a full house tonight and three moving speeches!

Theme: Simplification
Word of the Day: abridge

We heard three speeches tonight. The first was a wonderful Ice Breaker from Fahad, who told us his journey, his challenges, and why he wanted to become a better speaker. Next, we heard a beautiful speech from Usha about the power of "procrastination." Then we heard a powerful speech from Karpagam about her journey of storytelling.
Next, Apple challenged us in Table Topics to simplify various areas of our lives! There were some creative ideas there!

Tonight's meeting was an exciting one, with awards being passed out and announcements of a new Pathways recognition system we'd like to try!

Theme: Awards
Word of the Day: resilience
We heard two speeches, the first by Valerie, who gave a Pathway capstone speech about slowing down and noticing the small details. Then Salamat gave a club Ice Breaker explaining his journey and what brought him to our club. He's not new to Toastmasters, but we're thrilled to hear his first speech with us!
The Deepa held an interesting Table Topics in which she presented little awards to our high-achieving members.
