Grateful to dear friend and a noble person Shri Dinesh Kumar of “India Cash and Carry” (www.indiacashandcarry.com) for sponsoring four Smart Classrooms in Punjab in association with “Punjab Foundation” (www.Punjabfoundation.org) . These Smart Classrooms have been installed by the DataWind company at villages Jainti Majri, Kasouli, Masol & Kansal in district Mohali, Punjab.

What is Smart Classrooms:
With the technological advancements classroom teaching is not restricted to blackboards, chalk and dusters. Learning can be fun by making use of digital equipment like laptops, computers, tablets fitted to a projector. Teacher conducts a class by using the screen attached to a projector. Students will assimilate the audio-visual information that is projected on the screen and learn about the topic. This solution is focused on improving quality of education through technology thus bridging the digital divide

Developing Indigenous Resources (DIR) based in Naya Goan, District Mohali in Punjab strives to improve life-standards in the most neglected areas of developing countries.They have expertise is in developing the resources of communities (living in the slum area) so the residents are empowered to solve their own most serious problems. They believe the best solution to a problem is brought to it by the people who have the problem, and therefore the best course of action is to develop indigenous resources. Punjab Foundation in partnership with DIR is working on some education related projects and detail will be shared in near future.
