Great meeting last week and presentation from our District Director, Abhijeet Joshi! We talked about how we can better elevate our presence in the workplace, and the importance of active listening, critical thinking, organization, and communication.

Hybrid meetings pose a unique challenge when it comes to give the best experience to both in-person and zoom participants. We've gone a long way after dozens of hybrid meetings since we first came back from fully online meetings. We continue to make enhancements whenever it can improve the overall experience. Our latest addition is a much better projector that makes the in-person experience much more immersive. What a difference!

Today's highlight is undoubtedly the sole speech by our avid cyclist, Fletcher, on Zwift. Using his real smart trainer setup as the prop, he recounted his amazing cycling journey and made a strong case for why Zwift is the right choice for him and other cyclist. Such an engaging, immersive and inspiring speech!

Lots of fun at our club Auction & Gift Exchange last week!

Alyson championed the meeting as our Auction Master, and helped us raise money for a great cause - SEVA Foundation, which provides vision care to folks in developing countries. Our donation from all the auction proceeds will likely restore sight to a blind person. Thank you to everyone who participated!

While Srinath made the single highest bid, Tianhao made the largest overall donation for a total of $40.00 on the three items he took home.

Grateful to our North Valley Toastmasters & Milpitas community, hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving Holiday with your friends and family! 🍗

⭐️ Join us next Friday at our first-ever HYBRID Open-House! While Zoom has helped us connect with members and guests all around the world since COVID, face-to-face meetings are invaluable.

After much planning & preparation, we launched our first Hybrid meetings this month and have received great feedback from members & guests.

Come celebrate the transition into another era with us next Friday at our Open House!

It would be great to see familiar faces back at Denny's and have a productive meeting over breakfast. 🍽🍳🥞

虎年大吉! Good Fortune in the Year of the Tiger!

We kicked off the New Year again with a Chinese New Year themed meeting. Table Topics Master Cherene conducted an informative and fun session, asking our members to give their views on festive occasions. We invited a guest speaker Jaymol, who rehearsed a contest speech, and in a second speech, Stan gave us a tour of the details of the Great Seal of California.

We had great time! Join us next week February 12, 7am for more of the same: our theme will be “Street Food”.

We rang in 2022 with a fun, out-of-the-ordinary meeting. We had two Table Topics sessions: one round-robin “Continue the Story” session where each member continued a story by the previous speaker. This resulted in the saga of John and his brother Bill, wrestling a snake at the top of Mt. Tamalpais! In the Lightning Slides Toble Topics, each of us had just 30 seconds to give a lightning-fast speech about an unusual photo that was just presented to them. We each had 3 chances to speak about photos and we all got better each time around.
