“The JOY of the lots is our strength” Nehemiah 8:10

“The steadfast love of Yahweh never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23). There is a joy that flows from being immersed in who God is and what He has done for us. What else can contemplating His unceasing love and great faithfulness do but make us happy, and give us strength for the day ahead?

It's easy to look at the headlines and feel overwhelmed. Cynicism creeps in. Anxiety builds. We start wondering if anything we do really matters. But Chuck reminds us — that's exactly the moment to remember who we are.

We're the people of love. Not sentimental, hashtag love — the real kind. The kind that shows up at the hospital. That reaches across political lines. That serves the neighbor we'd rather not know. That keeps believing the best of people even when it's hard. The world's direction isn't ours to single-handedly reverse.

But the difference we make, person by person, with love that's anchored in Christ — that's our calling. And it matters more than we know.
