Penquis Adventure Trail The nature trail will loop around Penquis Valley School grounds, advancing through field, riverside, wooded, stream, wetland, and edge habitats.

Kiwanis Boating club is starting in two weeks at PVMS with some indoor skills building, then paddling after April break.

Why: The Positive Action team is growing stuff this summer!

How: Drop plants off by the planters

Jennifer McKenna, from Northern Light, and the PVMS Positive Action Team will be fixing up raised beds and planters at the school to grow vegetables over the summer, starting this Wednesday. Drop off extra veggie plants anytime, or message this page if you want to help.

*Exciting Announcement*

We are offering an overnight canoe trip for teens! In partnership with AMC Maine Woods Initiative: Penobscot Paddlers- a 5-day Canoe Trip for Teens aged 13 - 17 from Piscataquis County! Guided by Maine Registered Guide Matt LaRoche, former superintendent of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway.

Dates: June 26th-30th, 2023.

Trip cost $350. Scholarships available. Includes lodging, meals, guides, and gear rental. A trip like this would normally cost over a thousand dollars but through a generous grant for Piscataquis County youth we can offer it lower.

Only 10 spots available.

Many thanks to the Milo HS Alumni for their $1,000 donation to Go Green! It will be a great help in extending the Adventure Trail to explore more of the school grounds. 'Dedicated to the MHS Alumni' will go nicely on a handcrafted trail sign!!
