We recently committed to TNR a colony of approximately 13 cats in Corinth (pictured), which is in addition to the remaining seven or eight cats at the Milo property that we have been working on the past few weeks. We have six spay/neuter spots reserved at PALS on June 18, and we will be trapping on June 17. We appreciate any help to offset the bill!

Tomorrow, we’ll be using a different clinic for our TNR trip! Last week, the property owner was able to trap two pregnant cats with our drop trap, so they will be spayed tomorrow along with four other cats that we trap today. The cats are very lucky, as the property owners care very much for this colony and want the best for them.

We dropped off six cats for spay/neuter, but there are about six more at the property, including one with a pretty nasty limp, so the property owner is going to take the lead on catching her with our drop trap. Neighbors across the street spotted me loading cats into the van and asked for help with their cats. We also received a call last night from a dairy farm with about 14 cats, so it's going to be a busy summer. Watch this space for ways you can help. Picture of my copilots for attention.

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to trap! We don’t usually have a van for transport, but when the Buick broke down the other day, we had to come up with another plan so we wouldn’t lose these 8 spay/neuter spots. As always, thank you for all the support!

We haven't posted for quite a while, but that doesn't mean we haven't been taking care of animals! Many of you may remember the 60+ cats at the dairy farm that we TNR'd at close to two years ago. Penny was one of the more socialized cats on the property and, at approximately five months old, was already pregnant and had lost an eye due to a suspected infection. She was immediately spayed and, with the property owner's permission, we decided to have Penny live here with us. She's recently had a lot of discharge from one of her ears, and after a sedated exam and X-rays, we had an accurate diagnosis of a polyp, so that was removed today and while they can return, we’re confident she’ll be feeling better soon. We have surgery spots reserved for the end of February, so we'll resume TNR at that time.

He's pretty spicy, but the little man had a good first night; he loves his KMR and is pooping/peeing without having to be stimulated. We’re hoping to get him on the next transport to Midcoast Humane on 11/6!

Daisy's owner reached out a few weeks back because she couldn't afford the cost of a spay at a general practice. As an elderly woman with mobility issues, she was also struggling to catch Daisy inside her home, so she was feeling very frustrated and a little hopeless. The low-cost clinic we use was able to add Daisy to our 10/14 appointment, and a trap was set inside the home. Unfortunately, Daisy had other plans and didn't walk into the trap until the cats had already been dropped off for surgery! So, her appointment has been moved to our 11/6 trip, and she'll hang out with us until then so she doesn't miss another appointment. Welcome to Camp Emmett, Daisy! 🌼
