July 8th may be a normal day for some, but to the Millville Police Department it is much more. To the Millville Police Department, it is a day of remembrance. On July 8th, 2012, Officer Christopher Reeves paid the ultimate sacrifice while on duty. He was a brother to many, a U.S. Marine, a Field Training Officer, a friend, a husband, a father, and a son.

Years ago, we swore we would never let Chris's memory fade. Since then, we honor him every year by lighting candles at the intersection where his watch ended. We then meet at his gravesite to commemorate Chris, share stories of the man that he was, and speak of his character.

Chris was a great officer, but more importantly was a great person who inspired many, and rightfully nicknamed "Superman". Below is a link to his memorial page if anyone would like to learn more about him or share a story.

Patrolman Chris Reeves was killed in a vehicle crash at the intersection of North 3rd and East Broad Streets at approximately 2:15 am.

PBA 213 is proud to have been able to donate and support a local event like this today. So many of our own children and kids in our community love baseball like Xavier does. It's an honor to support his recovery from such a tragic incident on the field playing a game he loves.

As a union we always strive to do things to support our community and local businesses even if under the radar. It is always an amazing feeling when that is reciprocated. Even small tokens of appreciation go a long way for our members. We would like to extend our gratitude to BIM’S Pizzeria , TNT BBQ, and to the Levoy Theatre for always supporting us from meals, to snacks, to drinks, etc. This past week we have received donated items from them unannounced and not for recognition. This is a shout out to you guys in hopes that the the good will comes back around to you. Thank you!

The Millville Police Benevolent Association Local 213 pauses to remember and honor the men and women of our armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We are grateful for their service and the freedoms it protects. Today we also recognize the Gold Star families who continue to carry the weight of that loss.
As law enforcement officers, we understand the importance of duty and sacrifice. We thank all veterans and those currently serving.

Let us remember them today and every day.

Millville PBA Local 213 would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to support the Chris Reeves 5K today. Your participation, energy, and generosity do not go unnoticed.

From the runners and walkers to the volunteers and sponsors this event would not have been possible without each and every one of you. It was incredible to see our community come together in such a meaningful way to honor Chris’s memory.

We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to seeing you again next year!
