Building a Better BMR

Building a Better BMR Parent group supporting the BMR High School Building Project

08/06/2026

It was great to attend the Joint School Committee, Select Board, and Finance Committee meeting tonight!
Here are a few important updates on the proposed new high school project:

August 26 is a key date! The MSBA will review the project, and we'll learn:
• Whether the project has been approved
• The total cost of the project
• How much state funding will be provided through reimbursement

After that, each town will a ballot vote to decide whether to move forward with building the new high school. This will be a ballot vote only—there will not be a Town Meeting vote.
Obviously, I will be voting YES!

The towns are still working to finalize the date of the vote, and as always, we'll keep you updated as soon as those details are available.

The biggest takeaway from tonight's meeting is that we won't have the final numbers until after the state's review and approval process on August 26. Once those official figures are released we will make sure to share them.

I was so glad to attend the Building Committee meeting this evening! It was inspiring to see such a dedicated group of community members working hard to bring a new BMR building to life.

I learned a lot about the vision for the potential new school and enjoyed hearing the thoughtful discussions about the design and, most importantly, what will best serve our students and our community.

I'll be sharing more updates as I learn more! In the meantime, if you have specific questions, feel free to email me at [email protected] and I'll do my best to get you the information you're looking for.

Exciting things are happening, and I can't wait to keep everyone informed!

This interactive workshop is an opportunity to learn about the educational and design priorities that have emerged from our first two visioning sessions as part of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) Feasibility Study.

Your voice is essential as we work together to reimagine and improve Blackstone Millville Regional High School (BMRHS).

During this session, you will:
✅ Gain insight into the progress made so far
✅ Share your thoughts, priorities, and concerns
✅ Help influence the design of a renovated and/or new school facility Your input will have a direct impact on the final design approach, ensuring our schools reflect the needs and aspirations of our students, educators, and community.
